Upon receiving the owl that Katie was injured, Charlie had been in Romania at the dragon camps. He read the note and dropped everything, asking one of his friends at the camp to care for their dog quickly. He apparated directly to St. Mungo's, running to the front desk. The note was clutched tightly in his hand as he enquired about her, and was filled in as to her condition. His head swam with information as he sat by her bedside, taking her hand gingerly in his. As the night went on, he sat sleepily with her, talking to her and tending to her. He wasn't about to leave her side until she was awake and he knew she'd be alright.
After some time, he realised he should likely tell his family what was happening, and opened his journal from the pack he carried with him, staying by her bedside as he scribbled notes to various people.
