High Tea
Narcissa sat at her small table and finished addressing the invitations she had prepared. She had originally wanted to meet these young ladies in public, to have an opportunity to just chat and catch up. But that was before Lucius had told her of the letters; she would have them to the Manor instead. It would worry Lucius less; she wouldn't dream of dragging him to keep watch on her as she discussed the latest events. But then he had made the decision to announce his candidacy, and her motivations had changed. She was going to need some help in reaching all potential voters.
She looked careful at her invitations. Miss Isadora Roquelaure was a new addition to her normal guest list. Miss Stella Sinistra was also someone new to include. Both young women were from the purest bloodlines. Miss Roquelaure had impressed Lucius with her astute comments, and that had encouraged Narcissa to include her. Miss Sinistra was soon to be married, according to Draco and the papers, and her name would be forced upon the Registry's list due to her soon-to-be husband's condition. Miss Parkinson had recently returned to town, as had Miss Greengrass. Narcissa wanted to include her friend, Millicent, as well. They had not seen each other very much of late.
She had thought carefully about who to invite; her only hope was that she hadn't delayed. Some women preferred more time to accepting an engagement. She called for Tibby, and said, "Please make sure these get sent by owl promptly. When their replies return, find me immediately."
