Amused at Caleb's reaction, Stella just smiled at him. "Love you, too," she murmured back, cuddling a bit closer into his arms.
Talking about the honeymoon stirred a whole bunch of ideas in Stella's head- things she had meant to tell Caleb or discuss with him when they were home. They lay cuddled together in their bed for nearly an hour, talking over ideas and plans for their honeymoon to Greece. They had decided, too, to spend about 3 days in Paris before coming back home. Caleb had never been either place, and Stella was full of ideas of things they could do and see, though of course she was planning plenty of time for them alone in their rooms, too.
The light outside had dimmed considerably, though Stella was perfectly content to remain cuddled together. However, Caleb was not-
Rather, Caleb's stomach was not, as it started growling rather loudly.
"Oh, love, we need to get you some dinner," Stella laughed, trying to cover the slight sadness she felt when she remembered that the Full was only a few days away. "What shall we have, my love?"
Caleb was starving, but it had been so nice to just cuddle and plan their honeymoon that he'd tried to ignore it for as long as possible. He'd thought, perhaps foolishly, that being on the Wolfsbane would help curb his insane appetite around the Full, but no such luck. At least he never had to worry about where his next meal was coming from, he'd always had enough to eat. He'd still give his left foot to be able to put on weight.
"I'm sure it will come as a complete surprise to you that I have three large steaks in the fridge that have been marinating all day," he said, a grin spreading across his face. "Haven't a clue what we're having with them," he admitted, "but there is steak!"
He was aware that Stella wasn't a huge meat eater, but she indulged him around the Full, for which he was grateful.
"So, half a steak for me and two and a half for you?" Stella asked, a teasing grin on her face. "I think we have things for a salad," she added, her voice a bit kinder. After nearly six months of living together, Stella was well aware of Caleb's cravings around the Full, and tried to keep him as happy as possible in the days leading up to his transformation.
"And I know we have ice cream for later," Stella continued as they walked into the kitchen. "Because I made sure to pick some up before I came home."
"Even if I wasn't madly in love with you, I'd keep you just because you always make sure I have ice cream," Caleb said, stepping up behind Stella and wrapping his arms around her waist. He nuzzled her neck as they walked in step to the kitchen.
He went about preparing the steaks while Stella threw together a salad. As soon as the steaks were on, he put some fresh vegetables on to steam. As much as Caleb loved cooking for Stella, he loved these moments even more, when Stella was in the kitchen with him, cooking beside him.
When the food was ready, they settled at the table. Caleb demolished one steak before he slowed down enough to actually speak. "How were you classes today? Kids behaving themselves?"
Though Stella had never counted herself as much of a cook, these past few months of being in the kitchen with Caleb on weekends had increased her confidence a bit. It felt good to be working together, and Stella was always struck with a strong sense of home whenever they spent time like this.
"Classes were fine today," Stella nodded, taking a sip of her wine. "Wednesday and Thursday were a bit rough, though. Three exams scheduled, and reviewing for another one. So I holed myself up in my office this afternoon so I wouldn't have to bring home any papers to mark." She hated having to spend her precious weekend hours with Caleb marking papers, even though she could have done it, as he usually worked on Saturdays.
"Are you working tomorrow, love?" Stella asked, knowing the answer was probably 'yes', especially if he was going to be taking over management of the shop.
"Afraid so," Caleb said, sighing. "Want to meet me for lunch? Weather hasn't been so bad lately, maybe we can go for a walk in the park. Or if you'd rather, we can pop round to the house and you can see what I've been working on this week. But," he said, holding up a finger, "there are a few things you're not allowed to see yet. They are surprises and will remain so until we're married. But I've got them all in one room, so you just can't go into that one."
He was beaming at Stella, knowing it would drive her a bit mad to know there were things in house she wasn't allowed to see. Caleb figured it balanced out not being able to have sex.
"Let's go to the house," Stella said, though she arched one eyebrow at the mention of surprises.
"Hidden surprises, huh? No way I could coax you into giving me just a peek?" She grinned, a teasing tone in her voice. She really didn't mind waiting for her surprises (after all, she was much more patient than Caleb would have been) but it was always fun to tease him.
"Well you could try and coax me," he said, resting his chin in his hands. "I'd never turn down a good coaxing." He batted his eyelashes at Stella, then laughed. "Nothing major, just a couple of things I'm saving until we move in."
They finished eating and cleaned up before moving to the sofa. Caleb put his feet up on the coffee table while Stella snuggled up next to him. "And to think, you could be having such amazing sex right now," he teased.
Stella laughed, punching Caleb lightly on the shoulder before snuggling back up with him, laying one hand on his thigh, her thumb drifting back and forth over his denims.
"Yes, we could," she agreed, still smiling. "But I can wait for the unbelievable, mind-blowing sex we will have on our wedding night," she said, knowing that however hard the wait was, the payoff would be incredible. Besides, there was something just as reassuring and wonderful about sitting here with Caleb, snuggled up on the sofa, talking about the rest of their lives together.
"You're right, holding out for mind-blowing sex is probably worth it," he said, trying to convince himself it was true. It had only been a week, but the closer he got to the Full, the more difficult it was going to be.
"It's a good thing the Full is in the middle of the week. You won't be here tempting me or my inner wolf with your womanly wiles."
Stella didn't immediately respond at Caleb's mention of the Full, just snuggled a bit closer, leaning her head on his shoulder.
"I'll be home after my afternoon class on Wednesday," she said quietly, her hand still resting on his leg. "I'll have to leave for classes that night, but I'll be back as soon as they're over." Stella hated having to leave Caleb for those few hours of class, but with both Remus and Severus out of the castle on Full moon nights, Minerva had more than enough to worry about without having to cover Stella's classes as well.
"And I'll make sure you're all settled in the morning before I have to go back to school. Luckily, Thursday is my free morning, so I don't have to be back until after lunch." If the Full did have to fall in the middle of the week, at least this time it was on a day when Stella could be home for a little bit longer than usual.
Caleb kissed the side of Stella's head. "Don't worry love, you know I sleep most of the day anyway. As long as we have some soup on hand and maybe a few sandwiches, I'll be all set."
He couldn't deny that everything was better when Stella was home, but she had responsibilities to attend to and couldn't babysit him all the time. "Ok, a lot of sandwiches. And maybe pie. I haven't pie in ages. How odd. I like pie."
Stella turned to look at Caleb, a confused (though still amused) look on her face.
"Pie?" She asked, unable to keep the hint of laughter out of her voice. She shook her head, leaning up to kiss him before pulling back and laughing softly. "You say the strangest things sometimes, love," she smiled.
It was one of the things she loved about Caleb, though- he was so funny, sometimes without even realizing it. He made her laugh a dozen times a day at least. For Stella, who could remember a time only a few years ago during which she hadn't laughed for months, this was a welcome thing indeed.
"Yes, definitely pie," Caleb said, wondering what was so funny about pie. "I love pie, I just keep forgetting. Someone is always distracting me with ice cream, so it makes it difficult to remember other delicious desserts!"
Now that he was thinking about it, he was making a mental list of ingredients to get at the store so he could make a pie or two this weekend. "How about you? What kind of pie do you like? Apple? Cherry? Cream pies? Name a pie and I'll attempt to make, though I'm making no promises that it will be edible."
"Tease," he murmured, smiling as he closed the distance between them, kissing her slowly, taking the time to savor the moment. He was wary about deepening the kiss, not wanting to get too worked up. This close to the Full, it wouldn't take much to get him aching for her.
He finally pulled back, looking at Stella through heavily lidded lashes. "If you keep kissing me, keeping to our deal is going to very hard." Caleb kissed her again, sweeping his tongue across her lower lip. "But I know you," he added, sucking her lower lip then releasing it, "and that is the point of it all isn't it? Drive me insane."

"Lemon meringue," she finally said, smiling up at Caleb. "Or blueberry. Or-" she cut off, leaning up to kiss him again, for a bit longer this time.
"Caleb pie could be nice, too. Though possibly very hard to make," she murmured, her lips still poised just above his.
