Molly had been upset that she had needed to work late on Valentine's Day, but she had known that Arthur would understand, and now that she was on her way home, she was looking forward to what her husband had planned for the two of them. She had gone shopping for him earlier in the week, though she wasn't planning on giving him his gift until after dinner, as she was starving. As she entered the Burrow, the smells from the kitchen invaded her nostrils, and a smile crossed her face when she realized that Arthur had not only made dinner, but had created a romantic atmosphere as well, complete with candles.

"Arthur, love? What's all this?"

Arthur smiled when he heard his wife enter their house. He was proud of himself, he was actually able to get everything done before she arrived home. He stood and walked towards her, red rose in hand. Once he saw her he leaned over to kiss her, then handed her the rose.

"It's Valentine's Day love, I thought maybe you'd enjoy a nice romantic dinner at home."

She returned his kiss, and offered him a smile as she admired the rose and the atmosphere again. He really was too good to her, and once she had hung her cloak up, she slid her arm around him.

"I know it's Valentine's Day, dear." She replied, moving to kiss his cheek briefly. "A nice romantic dinner here at home sounds lovely, sweetheart. Thank you. It looks like you've really been working hard on this."

His effort didn't really surprise her, as he had always made it a point to make Valentine's Day special, and she hadn't expected anything less from him this year. However, it did look like he had outdone himself, but she was determined to just enjoy the evening.

"Then you know what all this is." He grinned, then sighed contently when she kissed his cheek. He had a feeling this meant that she liked it. He wanted to make this one of the best Valentine's Day she'd ever had.

"I haven't really been working that hard, but I'm glad you appreciate it." He smiled then led her over to the table, "Now you just sit down and let me take care of everything."

"I suppose I do." She replied, squeezing his forearm gently before he led her to the table. She was impressed with how the evening was turning out already, and though she felt a little bad that she was still in her work robes and not a nice outfit, she had a feeling Arthur couldn't care less about what she was wearing.

After she settled into her seat at the table, she watched as her husband began to move about, getting dinner ready for the two of them. "Of course I appreciate it, Arthur, though I don't think it's wise for you to tell me you haven't been working that hard. It might make me expect this treatment more often."

Arthur smiled as he busied himself, trying to get the last of the things done. He was thankful he had gotten most of it done before she had arrived. There were some things that he had to wait til right before hand. He carried the pot of melted cheese and set it on a small wire holder. He moved to grab a candle and set it under the holder before lighting it. He turned and walked back to the counter, grabbing a tray of breads and fruits before sitting down across from her. He handed her a fork, keeping one for himself.

"And we've got a whole other chocolate course for when we're done with this." He smiled, forking a peice of bread, "How was your day, love?"

Molly smiled as she watched Arthur set up the fondue pot, and though fondue wasn't the fanciest of meals, she appreciated it all the same. Once he had brought the bread and fruit over and handed her one of the forks, she reached for a piece of bread as well, placing it on her fork. She offered her husband another smile when he mentioned the chocolate, and reached to squeeze his hand.

"My day was all right, I suppose. Long and tiring, but I'm glad this is what I get to come home to, love." She truly was lucky to have him for a husband, and she was more than grateful to come home to this atmosphere tonight. She didn't have to worry about cooking, or potions, or even essays, and she could focus on one duty, and one duty only, which was being a wife to her husband.

"How was yours, Arthur?"

"Sorry your day was long and tiring, though I'm glad you're glad about coming home to this." Arthur smiled and dipped his bread, eating it before speaking again. "Maybe I'll have to do this more often for you, dear."

This is what he lived for, nice quiet romantic evenings at home with his wife. Merlin, he loved this woman. Arthur watched her for a few minutes, he still couldn't believe she'd actually married him. He was the luckiest man in the world, he just couldn't help watching her, making sure this was real and not a dream.

"It was good, I didn't do much to be honest. Though these muggles keep coming up with curious things everyday."

"Of course I'm happy about coming home to this, Arthur." She replied, dipping her bread as well before eating it while she listened to him and grabbing another piece. "I would love it if you did this for me more often."

She appreciated it any time he cooked dinner for her, and she certainly wouldn't object to coming home to this more often. When she caught him looking at her, she cocked her head to the side, returning his gaze before she smiled.

"What is it, dear?" She asked, before nodding to his comments about his day and Muggles. "I'm glad you had a good day, and what kinds of curious things?" Though talking about Muggles wasn't her favorite topic, she tried to listen every now and then, as she did respect her husband's interests.

"Then I shall." Arthur smiled, poking at various peices until he decided on one. "I should get us some meat too." He stood trying to ignore her question. He had a feeling it was because of the stare. He was a bit embarrased to tell her, he knew they had been married for a long time but he was still some what ebarrased to tell her just how much in love with her he was.

"They have this thing, that makes noises like you're at the beach, or in a forrest. They say they use it for sleep."

"Thank you." She watched him for a moment when he got up to get them some meat, knowing he was avoiding her question. She nodded again as he told her about the thing that made noises to aid with sleep. To her surprise, it caught her curiosity as she had a feeling that whatever gadget he was describing, it worked, and she certainly wouldn't mind falling asleep to the sound of the ocean at night.

"That's interesting, dear. Answer my question, please. Why were you staring at me like that?"

Arthur nodded then went back to the table with a plate full of meat. He poked a peice of ham and dipped it in. He ate it slowly as he pondered how to respond. He was going to get her the noise thing for a present soon, but for now he needed to figure out what to do now.

"Because you're beautiful?"

She dipped her second piece of bread and watched him as she waited for a response, and after she ate it, she too reached for a piece of ham. She could tell her husband was thinking, given how slowly he was eating, but she could wait for hours for his response if she needed to. When it finally came, she reached across the table to squeeze his hand gently again, offering him a smile.

"I think I can accept that. Is that the only reason?" She asked, giving his hand another squeeze. Her husband really was sweet, and she wasn't going to jump on him for staring at her.

"It's just..." He frowned and chewed on another peice of ham, leave it to food to get him thinking, he always got nervous when he talked about his feelings. He knew he had nothing to worry about, but this was Arthur. He could go from care free to extreme worry in a matter of moments when it came to Molly.

"We've been married for a long time." Arthur nodded, he could do this, he began to speak more firmly. "We've been through a lot of trying times, happiness, joy, pain...sorrow. It's just... after all that..." He bit the inside of his cheek trying to figure out the next part.

Molly cocked her head as he began to speak, continuing to watch him. She knew feelings weren't something he was extremely good at, but she wasn't going to punish him for saying the wrong thing, as truthfully, she highly doubted he could say the wrong thing when it came to her, especially after he started in on his speech.

"Yes, we have, dear. Go on."

"I just... I wanted to tell you how much I love you, Molly." Arthur offered a half smile then looked at his food.
