The look on her face and the glimmer of brightness in her beautiful eyes was all Seamus needed to be assured that his wife was well pleased with her party room. He was delighted that the painstaking trip down the steps had been worth the trouble and reassured her that he would carry her back up again when she tired. Hopefully if she was comfortable enough she could enjoy some time with friends she might not see much for a while. Neither one of them was experienced with the disruption a baby could bring into their lives, but seeing his older brother Frank with his new family had made it clear that they had a lot of joy and a lot of work ahead of them. How a talented wizard and witch could be flummoxed by such a small bit of babe he was totally uncertain, but he was hardly fool enough to believe that magic would make all the difference. Particularly if their babe was also magical…a subject he’d not yet been brave enough to broach with his expectant wife.

“Happy Birthday, my Char, love of me life and sweet Mum to my babe,” he whispered to her as he leaned over to kiss her again and patted her midsection. The baby gave him a kick in return, a move that pleased him no end. He laughed out loud, grinning as if it was only his child bright enough to be so fresh in the womb.

“That’s me own lass,” he laughed to the babe in the sing-song voice all fathers in love with their daughters soon find. “You’ll be here soon enough now, to be tryin’ the patience of Job and your Mum then. Let your sweet Mum enjoy her own birthday ‘afore you’re here for your own, luv.” Then he laughed, kissing Char again.

“What can your barman be fetching for you then, love? Something to drink or a bit of a bite to be tidin’ you o’er ‘til our friends come to wish you a year more of happy?” He stood behind her, kneading the tightness out of her neck and shoulders as he waited for her to decide on her choices, pleased in equal portions by the sight of the Christmas Tree and the mound of their baby. If there were more ways to be happy, he didn’t yet know them.

"You could be fetching me some tea, mon amour." she said, squeezing his hand with a small smile, looking up at him, "Merci beaucoup." she added.

She loved how he talked to their baby. She loved to feel them interacting in her womb. She chuckled softly, rubbing the kicked spot lightly, "There is cake, oui?" she asked, if she had pregnancy cravings, anyone that knew her would say that her biggest one was sugary treats. She loved cake and pies and little pastries. Or at least she did when she was pregnant. She hadn't had much of a sweet tooth before becoming pregnant.

She looked around her and it was just a beautifully decorated winter wonderland. But now her own surprise party would be fairly unfair. She'd just have to cancel it. That was okay, her hands rested on the baby and she let him go get her something to drink. He'd said that people were going to show up, either way, it was fine. Even if it was just them, that was fine.
