A True General is Not Promoted, He is Tempered

Six o'clock at the Three Broomsticks was one of Rosmerta's busiest times. But that suited Remus just fine. The more commotion around them, the less chance of anyone accidentally overhearing the conversation that evening. Anyone who was dead set on learning what they spoke of would have to get close enough to them to overhear -- and Remus' senses were high enough a week from the Full Moon that he'd notice them before they could hear much.
Slipping inside the crowded Inn, he didn't wait for Lass to notice him, but headed to the back of the room immediately. His usual darkened corner was taken. Still, there was another not far away that would suffice. Dark and against the back wall. Settling in the seat that would put his back to the wall, he scanned the room for familiar faces and not so friendly ones. He'd had his face in the press again and that always garnered more than a few glares when he walked into the pub of an evening.
That more than a few of them looked at him with fear after the attack on McClaggen was expected, depressing, but expected. Funny how he could be coming to see such a brighter hope when he thought of Severus, or Caleb and Stella. Yet, two minutes in the pub and he despaired of ever seeing acceptance for his kind in society.
Remus was a little early. There would be nothing amiss in ordering a bottle of butterbeer while he waited for Aurin to arrive. He hadn't seen the man since before the end of the war, focused as he had been on training his pack, Harry, and the students -- not necessarily in that order. But, he remembered Severus saying it had been Aurin who warned him the Aurors had been given silver tips for their wands after the interrogations last autumn. So, he assumed his fellow Order member would be willing to help him out in a little subterfuge to get Caleb registered with as few repercussions as possible.
At least, that was his hope as he flagged Lass down to place his order.
