He was there, outside The Leaky Cauldron, at ten minutes to two. When you had nothing better to do with yourself, being on time for appointments was rather easy.
Well, that and being nervous. As suave and world-savvy as he liked to present himself, Perry really knew nothing about buying jewelry for woman, especially something as significant as this. Hell, he didn't even know what shops in Diagon Alley sold engagement rings. But he knew Pansy, and the look of disappointment she would try to hide (very poorly of course, since it was Pansy) if he gave her something she didn't like. And he'd already screwed up the proposal. The least he could do was get this one part right.
He'd asked June along because he needed a more competent opinion. She was a woman, and she would know better than he did what a woman would want. And she had eyes now-crass as that was to say. Here was an opportunity to put them to use.
What concerned him even more than the shopping... was the fuss that June had promised to make when she arrived. He was getting embarrassed just thinking about it.
Perry. Getting married. How was he going to tell the others?
