A surprise for Mr Morsus

There was a peculiar little spring in June's step as she walked down the street towards Arcadia, a cheery glow not usually associated with visiting people one didn't make any particular pretense at liking. But she couldn't help it. For once she was going to beat him at his own game, and the thought made her practically giddy.
Everyone she saw regularly had by now pretty much got used to her restored vision. Even for her, the novelty had worn off - though she was still overjoyed to be able to see, of course! But she'd almost forgotten there were people in her life who still didn't know.
Forgotten, at least, until Morsus had begun picking at her in his journal, wielding his usual brand of nasty mockery barely veiled in false sympathy. And she was sure he had far more of the same in store for her today... but she was going to utterly turn the tables on him.
To that end, she'd put on her old sunglasses, and as she approached the gallery she let her steps slow. June was a terrible liar, so it was anyone's guess as to how long she could pretend to still be blind, but she intended to carry on as long as possible. The feeling of wicked glee she got at the whole scheme was probably bad - a nice girl would probably have told him the truth right off - but this was Morsus.
And this was far too good an opportunity to waste.
Deliberately, she walked a few paces past Arcadia's entrance, then hesitated, turning her head as if trying to sense her surroundings. She was betting he'd be watching for her.
