Surprise!

Location: The Woods' cottage

Rating: G - there's a child present! (Well, now that Snape's involved, I should probably push that to at least PG...)
The holidays had passed in a flurry of activity and distraction. Preparing for the Spinner's End Christmas gathering, last-minute shopping, visiting family... There had been others June had intended to see over the holidays, but before she'd known what was happening, it was after New Years. Hogwarts was to be reopening in a week. The full was in two days. Time was running out!
When she realized just how little was left, she hurried to contact Oliver, making certain he and Wini would be home that afternoon. She had gifts for them both, she wanted to see how Wini's Puffskein was doing, she wanted to chat with them and find out how their holidays had been.
...And she was, she had to admit to herself, dying to show him- er, them- her best Christmas present.
Severus's presence on the trip was unexpected; when she'd told him where she was going, he'd inquired as to whether she'd mind if he joined her. Casually.
Which immediately made her suspicious.
He had a package with him, which it didn't take a genius to figure out had to be for Wini. If it were for Oliver, she thought wryly, it must be something that exploded upon opening. But she didn't ask.
She also didn't warn him that if he said anything or did anything to ruin her planned visit, he would be hearing about it later. He ought to know her well enough by now to know that without it needing to be said. And the same went for Oliver. Some sniping was probably to be expected, but if the whole thing went to pieces because they couldn't keep off each other's backs, she was going to be very irate.
Well. Hopefully it would be a pleasant visit for all!
"Be nice," she reminded Severus with a smile, and knocked lightly on the door.
