A little tete-a-tete, followed by erranding

Now back to being without her special glasses, June was not jumping with joy at the idea of facing the crowds in Diagon Alley. She'd gotten rather used to relying on those wonderful charms when she was in a crowd, but how bizarre would they have looked, perched on top of the bandages that now covered her eyes and wrapped around her head? In case she needed them, they rode in her pocket, but why look like a complete freak when she could just Floo directly to the Leaky? And hopefully Tonks would be willing to walk her to the pet shop from there, if she had time.
She hadn't actually seen Tonks - well, technically, she hadn't seen Tonks in well over five years. But they had barely spoken, much less crossed paths, in a couple of months, and so much had happened in that time! Though they'd planned this before the announcement of the latest twist of the Registry leash (a metaphor that was growing more accurate by the day), she was determined still to have a nice time catching up with a friend, and not let agitation spoil the day. If this would be one of her last opportunities to be out without her every move being tracked by those hateful bloody bastards at the Ministry, she was going to make the most of it.
Stepping out of the Floo into the common room at the Leaky Cauldron, she dusted herself off and took a step away from the fireplace. No doubt her bandaged face was already drawing attention from the lunch crowd. Hopefully Tonks had beaten her there and would come to her rescue.
