Autumn had well and truly settled over the Isles, bringing with it cool, crisp breezes and vibrant leaves that crunched beneath his feet as Remus walked down the road to the gates of the school. A nice casual lunch outside of the castle was precisely what he needed. With all the recent turmoil he had been forced to deal with lately, it would be good to get out for a while.
As he wandered along the road to Rosmerta's pub, he did tried to put all of it from his mind -- his worries over Bill and Fleur, the ever-present feeling of a Ministry noose about to tighten around all of their necks, irrational emotions making him jealous of things others had that he, himself, was too cowardly to try for despite his desires to do just that. It all seemed like such a hopeless tangle of responsibility and selfish wants and fear and hope and just...everything. Even though Katie had said she wanted to ask his advice on something, it still felt good to be meeting with someone who basically had no serious demands upon his time or heart.
The smell of rich food and warmth from the large fire inside were the first things to greet him as pushed open the door of the pub.
The next was Lass.
"Remus!" She exclaimed with a smile. "Your usual?"
"I'm actually meeting Coach Bell for lunch." Smiling, Remus put out a hand to stop her from leading the way to the bar, steering her towards a nearby empty table, instead. "And no, you're not allowed to put everything on the house for us both. I see that thought in your head already dear girl."
"You'll at least have to allow me to provide free drinks for the two of you. I'm the waitress, you really have no choice." The young woman grinned impishly at him and Remus knew it was an argument lost as he took a seat to wait for Katie. "I'll be right back with a cup of cocoa to warm you up while you wait."
