Odette was complaining again. This time it was about some customer that had stiffed her big time and left without paying. No matter that The Leaky Cauldron was out the money for his food, she harped bitterly about her lack of a tip for the table, then donned her robes and took off for the night, leaving the clean-up for Seamus ( ... )

Unbeknownst to the men upstairs, there was one down in the cellar that had heard the end of the singing upstairs and the sounds of those upstairs leaving the kitchen, and decided that the pub was empty and it was time to make his move. He donned his Death Mask, his black cape, and held his wand at the ready. He moved noiselessly towards the stairs and became unrecognizable in the gloom of the cellar. Then he slipped up the stairs, quiet as a moving mist of black smoke, intent on thievery and escape ( ... )

Seamus saw the flash of green light in the farthest reach of his peripheral vision, idly wondering if someone had just come in through the Floo. Realising it had not come from the same direction as The Leaky Cauldron fireplace, his very next thought was alarm. He reached for his wand, wondering what was amiss. Before he could turn around, he heard the words, “Petrificus Totalus.” He was frozen in place, facing the back mirror as he stood behind the bar and watched the figure of the masked Death Eater approaching. His only hope was the presence of his wand in his hand. He tilted backwards, rigidly balanced with his back to the bar. If the Death Eater did not know his wand was in his hand and he came around the bar, he might be able to hit him with a spell ( ... )

In the eye of the storm before the next petulant attack, the man was distracted by a groan. Seamus was coming to behind the bar. His eyes flashing behind his mask, the Death Eater went back around the bar and released Seamus from his full body binding, replacing that spell with another, more useful to salving his anger.

As his eyes slowly opened and he realised his arms were free, Seamus heard a lowly guttural fright of a laugh from behind him, followed by something worse.

“Imperio!” The man commanded with something akin to glee ( ... )

She had been up in her room, in her pajamas. She still hadn’t heard a word from Marcus, and she felt betrayed. How could he make her wait so long? She had been dying to talk to anyone, but knew that if she talked to Parvati she’d spill the beans, and she wasn’t ready to do that. Not yet. She decided she’d wait until Seamus came upstairs from closing down the Leaky and try to convince him to play his harp for her, and relax with him. She waited on her bed, flipping idly through pages of her journal when she heard crashes. She giggled at first, thinking that Odette was probably just giving Semaus trouble, but then there were more crashes. She stood up, grabbing her robe and throwing it on, running out her door and down the steps. What on earth was going on?
And then, from behind the door, she could hear Imperio.

Oh, Gods! Gods! She ran back for her wand, trying to unlock the door. “Alo-Gods!--homora! Alo-Alo-- Alohomora!” It didn’t budge. She heard the sound of a body being dropped on glass, the crashing, the ( ... )
