Katie was severely disappointed in their astronomical drop out of the standings. It really had been bad luck that Gwenog had drawn the last buy of the season. If they had played last week, they would be a shoe-in for the play-offs, but no. They had had the week off and it had killed their season. Statistically though, that was what the week was called, was the season killer.
You had to be in first place by a good lead in order to have a buy in the last week. They had had a hard season, a few wins, a few loses, some injuries and stupid politics. She entered into the Leaky and flopped down at the bar. She wasn't entirely sure HOW they would recover from the downturn against the Tornados. It was not the easiest thing to think about, but their season was essentially over.
She had the exhibition game to look forward to, but still, it was difficult to not be down that their professional season was in such a hard place. They would have to work ten times as hard, considering almost half the team was playing in the exhibition game and the other half of the team would be working in the workshop on Saturday. It would be a good practise and such for the game, but that would only be half the team, the other half, the beaters and seeker and extra chaser would drill themselves all weekend.
They would be ready to go against the Tornados, but Tuthill wasn't an awful team. They had been ranked 13th before the buy, but then again Montrose had risen swiftly through the ranks in the manner of a couple of weeks. For now though, she didn't want to think about it. She just wanted to try to relax and have a drink.
