One for the depressing files

I'll get on to blogging about fun things in a moment, but I just wanted to comment on this blowup here. I'm linking the last comment because you really don't need to see the previous. Basically:

1. Radical feminist discusses some revelations she's had about the trans issue, and questions some of the transphobia in the rad fem community
2. Various people, including non-radfems and ex-radfems, come in to thank her for the thoughtful post
3. Some debate takes place, and gets rather seriously heated.
4. Other radfems come in and call her an impostor radfem, a radfem-basher, her post an attack on radical feminism, etc.

Just looking at the last comment: You've heard this all before from me I'm sure, but this particular brand of online radical feminism reminds me of nothing so much as it does Scientology. That influx of people calling this woman not a real radical feminist sounds far too much like Disconnection (or at the very least an SP Declare) for my taste. She was a radfem; now she's a lying scumbag SP.

It just goes to show that you can totalitarianize (is that a verb?) anything -- even something as noble in basic principle as feminism.

feminist, radical feminism, trans issues, wtf?
