busy, busy, busy

I've been a clean freak lately. Now I see something that needs doing (and there's a lot of that around here, with our menagerie) and I hop over to do it, which is a nice change. For the last couple of years I'd see something and think "yeah, but who cares?" followed by a long mental "Marvin"-style rant about the pointlessness of housework and life in general. "Life. Don't talk to me about life." Maybe it wasn't Marvin's big brain that was causing him problems, but hypothyroidism. Except that Androids don't have thyroids. Anyway.

I learned not to try to clean the TV/game stand while watching a DVD on the PS2 because one of the plugs keeps coming lose, resulting in an exercise in frustration.

Lots got done, including significant progress on a ruana I've been knitting for far too long.

It's nice to feel wired after exercise, instead of ruined for the day annd/or ill. Lovely to enjoy walking the dogs instead of always being too tired and trying to talk galbinus_caeli into doing it.

Speaking of the critters...the other day our foster kitty, Mr. Marlowe was cutting up under one of the benches in our yard, tail twitching, putting his paw on the fence and so on. When I mentioned to galbinus_caeli that Mr. M might be reacting to a cat we've seen hanging around the yard galbinus_caeli went out to investigate and discovered that poor Mr. M had put his head through a hole in the fence and couldn't pull it back! He showed us lots of love and gratitude for the next couple of hours, even letting us trim his claws.

I have a mammogram and a bone density scan tomorrow morning, one right after the other. You hit 50-something and the doctors look for all kinds of excuses to get you into those embarr-ass-ing little hospital gowns and having someone squeeze, poke and run tubes into various parts of your anatomy. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I'd rather have my boobs mangled for a few minutes every year than the alternatives. Still, I swear they take video of these things and play them at office parties.
