Kris had made her way back to the warehouse after that very strange night, her clothes, hair still covered with that powder but for some strange reason, she didn't care what it was or what it might have done to her and the others. The only thing she knew was anger, pain, hurt and disappointment, everything she had been bottling away for so long had come rushing to the surface on that night.
Like Rhiannon had said about herself, she felt amped, like she could take on the world and in a weird kind of way she was going to do just that, she ignored the sounds from the various rooms around her. The most primitive of desires was lust, sex, and it would seem that the people in the warehouse were taking full advantage of it, but to Kris, this meant next to nothing to what it was she had to do. Opening her door, she tossed her jacket aside before she crouched beside her bed and reaching under, she pulled out what appeared to be a box.
Letting out a long breath, she unclasped the hinges and lifted it to reveal the knife she had acquired so very long ago, the knife she knew would end Orion's life, free her of his control at long last. Her dark eyes ran over the blade as it shone in the dark of her room, an odd smile curled the tips of her lips up, she should probably be scared, afraid of what might happen, she had faced him and his demons before and she had lost. Only then, she hadn't been driven by pure emotion, by the want to erradicate his pathetic life from the planet and this time she was. She didn't have to worry about anyone else getting hurt, or being in the way, it would be just her and him.
Getting back up to her feet, she flicked the blade through the air and did a few experimental jabs, before she followed it through with a kick and punch. Yeah, she could do this, and either way she didn't care, it was him or her. It was just that simple. She then moved to change, slipping out of her yellow powdered clothing, before sliding back into a pair of jeans and top. She snatched her dark hair back into a tight plait before she grabbed the band she used to hold her stakes around her leg and tied it up and around her thigh, before she slid the knife into the sheathe. Mimicking the action, she pulled yet another knife from under her bed and into the other sheathe around her thigh.
She paused for a moment to give Cleo a stroke before she snatched up her leather jacket and slid it on, flipping her hair out of the collar then with one last look back to her room, she smirked and set off to face Orion.
------------------
Kris crouched down in the shadows, her eyes running over the darkened alleyway she knew led to Orion's lair, the yellow skinned demons guarded it as always and if she wanted to get in, she would have to get through them. She thought about faking being under his control again, but she couldn't, not ever again. Tracking her gaze across the alleyway, she noted that there was a fire escape just above her, lifting an eyebrow in thought before she very quickly sprung upwards. Fingers wrapping around the bottom of the ladder and using all of her upper body strength, she hauled herself up until her feet were on the bottom of the ladder rung.
Grunting very softly, she then moved her hands to grab the next ladder rung, making very quick progress up it until she found herself on the fire escape. Pausing for a moment, she considered her options and the only way to go seemed to be up. And up she went, hands using windowsills as holds as she scaled the side of the building, before finally pulling herself up onto the roof, and crouching, she hurried across the rooftop. She then found herself above the two yellow skinned demons, a surprise attack never hurt. With that thought in mind, she walked forward and balanched precariously on the edge of the rooftop before she simply fell forward. As she fell through the air, she twisted her body around so she landed very quietly in a crouch behind the demons, facing them as they faced away from her.
Her movements didn't seem to have disturbed them, in fact they hadn't even noticed she was there and this she used to her advantage, her hand strayed to the ordinary knife on her right thigh and very quietly she pulled it out before her eyebrows drew together, face pulling into an expression of anger and hatred. She moved without a sound, without a thought as her blade cut into one demon's neck, its blood spilt across the alleyway, a horrid gurgling sound could be heard as it fell towards the ground, straining for breath. Its limbs flailed uselessly out to the side, the other now alerted to her presence swung round for her, its red talons catching her across her cheek.
Blood trickled down across the side of her face but this didn't stop her, in fact this encouraged her, she lifted her hand into a fist and slammed it across the side of the demon's face, he didn't seem too phased and quickly retailiated by slashing straight across her stomach, she however managed to spring back so her top was the only thing that took damage. She snarled, lifting her boot to slam it across the demon's head, causing it to stagger sideways and using this to her advantage, she moved the knife, the silver metal flashing through the air before she sunk it into the demon's side. She smiled slowly as the demon howled in pain, and really not caring about its pain, she twisted the knife, feeling the warm blood sliding over the blade and across her hand, as it cut away at more of the demon's vital organs.
She had done her research and done it well, she knew where this demon's heart lay and from the time she had spent with them, she had been learning through watching them as well, wouldn't Giles be so proud? She smirked as she ripped the knife from the demon's side and with a turn of her heel, she spun herself around to face the demon, the knife in her hand moved up and through the air, so it caught the demon in the chest, its blood spilled from its skin before with one final breath, it fell towards the ground and Kris was left with its blood dripping from her knife blade and hand.
With a disgusted look on her face, she crouched and cleaned her knife on the demon's clothes before she raised herself to her feet, sliding the knife away again and raising her hand which was coated with the demon's blood, she pressed it against the wall and muttered some kind of incarntation. The incarntation seemed to stir something inside the wall and the bricks shifted, a hole beginning to appear, swirling in all different directions, the blood seemed to set it alive and with a deep breath, Kris stepped through the swirling vortex.
------------------
Glancing around her, Kris repressed a shudder as this was all too familiar terrain. She then turned her head to the familiar drawl of Orion," Kris my darling, you've returned to me."
Kris sneered softly, before she pulled the knife she had found especially for him, the corkscrew end glinted in the flickering light of Orion's chambers, she smirked as she saw him stiffen and shift almost nervously, it was good to see him of all things nervous and perhaps even scared," You're going to pay for everything you put me through, for everything you've done." Her eyes fixated on the mark in the middle of his forehead before they watched his every move as he got to his feet, his red skin seemed to shimmer as he moved over to snatch up what appeared to be a double edged sword.
" Rather confident, aren't we, Kris? The last time I saw you, you weren't as confident..no no, you belonged to me." Orion remarked with a smug smile on his face which only worked to aggravate Kris and she soon had both her knives out. She knew how strong Orion was but there was no turning back now, she had come to kill him and she would. He merely arched an eyebrow to her lack of communication, his voice stirred inside of her head but Kris was fighting, this was what she did, she fought.
Suddenly he lashed outwards at her, his sword cutting through the air quickly which caught Kris offguard, barely managing to deflect the blow, it hadn't even phased him and he soon moved towards her, sword catching her across the back. She hissed in pain as warm blood trickled from the wound but ignoring the pain, she dove at him, one knife catching his blade, holding it up and away as the other sliced viciously across his face. Orion snarled in pain, his blood oozing from the wound but he soon recovered, moving the sword out in a wide arc. Kris' eyes widened slightly but she grunted as she bent over backwards, the blade of his sword mere inches away from her stomach, before the young slayer, pushed off from the ground and sprung her body back and around so she landed in a crouch a few feet away from him.
Orion smiled slowly," Impressive." He muttered for a moment as he flicked the sword through the air, pacing backwards and forwards before very quickly, he was upon her again, his sword clashing with her knives, Kris winced harshly as the sparks from the two blades caught the skin of her neck and she felt it burning, but she grunted, using her arms to force her knives up and out, so it threw his sword off to the side. Using this moment, she focused her eyes and weaved her hands in the air, her blades blurring before Orion's eyes, the demon let out a growl as they soon cut down into his chest and finally, Kris rolled to the side, cutting one side of his thigh as she did.
Anger was a very strong emotion, if put to the right uses, you could do anything. Kris seemed to have refined this emotion so she could fight with the passion of it but also with control, Orion was also angry but whilst Kris' was a controlled more focused, his was passion ruled and furious without co-ordination. This would be his downfall eventually. However for the moment, he had the upper hand on Kris as he sliced upwards, catching her across the chest, she gasped at the sudden burning pain as she was forced to her back. Blood streamed from her vest and down over her skin from the now very vivid cut that now streaked from the top of her collarbone to the centre of her chest, any ordinary person would be done for, would just give up but Kris wasn't just any ordinary person.
She grunted, rolling and springing back to her feet. Pain flooded her body and all of her senses, but the desire to kill Orion was stronger than anything and she simply relinquished herself to the fight, blades clashed against blades, flesh on flesh, blood to blood until eventually, Kris was slammed into the wall. Her grip on the special knife she had brought tightened as Orion's face came so close, she could practically taste his breath and using his momentary lapse of focus, she snarled," GO FUCK YOURSELF!" And with that sudden outburst, she brought the corkscrew end up and through the air, her eyes entirely focused on the mark and using all the strength she had left, she drove it down and into his forehead. Feeling and hearing the bone cracking and snapping underneath the metal as it forced its way past his skull, towards his brain.
Orion pulled away, howling in pain as his blood ran from the wound down over his face, his eyes were ablaze with pain and Kris was now sat, coughing for air and nursing her own pain, but she brought her head up. Watched Orion's pain through strands of dark hair, she had come this far, she would see this to the end, the demon staggered back, desperately trying to remove the knife which protruded from his forehead but he could not. A sudden wind rushed through the chamber, it swirled around Orion, his cries echoed throughout the chamber and in Kris' ears. She swallowed back the rising bile as she watched the wind almost pulling Orion's flesh from him, then all of a sudden. The chamber was submerged into darkness, silence replaced his cries of pain and Kris' eyes widened as what appeared to be dark swirling vortex opened from behind Orion.
She then let out a sharp cry as the vortex suddenly pulled her towards it, her hands dug for anything to hold onto, just something to hold her in this world. Pain flared throughout her as she felt one shoulder snapping out of its joint, goddamn that hurt. She turned her gaze to Orion, watched as the vortex tracked his movements, almost like a magnet before she simply muttered,
" You messed with the wrong girl."
Orion's eyes darkened before widening as he let out a very loud clear cry as finally he was pulled back through the vortex, as soon as he hit it, the vortex began to close in on itself until eventually, there was nothing and the sudden pull stopped and Kris was able to let go of the nearby wall. Breathing heavily, she looked around her at the empty chambers, he was gone, there was no voice in her head, not anymore. Her lips curled into a smile and she let out a sudden cry of joy but the pain brought her back to reality.
Had to get out of here, get to somewhere safe
------------------
Kris emerged from the dark alleyway, her eyes brighter than they had been in a very long time, her body battered, bloody and bruised but she had never felt so alive. The only person on her mind was Hayden and she set off for his apartment. Orion was gone, she was finally free.
