in 4 days!

OK....from what I'm hearing most people are up in the air as to what to do about AFTER post prom AND PROM WEEKEND....as in Sat./Sun. Well, here's a few ideas I came up with....let me know what you think or have any other ones:

Things to keep in mind
- we need to make reservations ASAP, if we do something that requires them, if it's not too late already
-there is a 40% chance of rain/thunderstorms for Fri. and Sat.

I) OVERNIGHT ACCOMODATIONS:

A.- motel in a central location for Sat. night, close to wherever stuff is that we want to do...probably 4 people min. in a room ($15-20 each or less?)

B.-camping - tents?...(KettleTown has been mentioned by some)

C.-other option (offered by my parents) - my house -sleeping all over inside or in tents and whatnot in the backyard. I didn't know how you'd feel about this, but if we're doing things all day Sat. and Sunday during the day or at least part of it...it's another place to crash -just another option AND we could go midnight swimming AND it's FREE..heh

II)THINGS TO DO:

-If Camping: parks have nature trails, swimming, cookouts, sleeping's always good, poker/games and whatnot at night...you know, the usual - sex, drugs and rock n'roll....

-Amusements Parks
-Quassy - $19.95 or discounted group rate of $13.00?
-Lake Compounce - $32.95
-Six Flags- (daily 39.99 online price, 49.99 @ door)
**can get discounted tickets through AAA or with coupons for all parks I do believe

-go into NYC for the day...walk around -shops, restaurants, maybe see a play with discounted tickets (I believe the train is $14.00 round trip?)

-Farmington River Rafting: start at one area of the river, everyone gets a big inner tube and basically floats down 2.5 miles of river, sounds fun, yet nice and lazy. Cost $20.00 each, although 10 or more we could get a group rate of $14.00, if booked in advance

-Essex Steam Train +
-River Boat+
-Gillette Castle+
- The train and the Boat ride combo is $26.00, G.Castle I think is $3 0r 5.00....so basically drive up to Essex, take the old 1920's version steam train ride to where you get on a huge old fashioned paddle-wheel River Boat (30- min? cruise), which drops you off in front Gillette Castle (Mark Twain's old home), which you tour, then I believe you do everything i reverse to get back

-Port Jefferson Ferry departs Bridgeport...about 45 min cruise over to Port Jefferson...once you get there, it's just shopping, sightseeing, maybe a beach?
(Ferry = $14.00 one way or $19.00 round trip same day)

-Block Island: take the BI Ferry from New London to Block Island and hang out there for the day. Walking around, shops, eating, beach... (I think it's like $19.00 each way though)

-Mansfield DRIVE-IN MOVIE THEATER: The only Drive-In left in existence in Connecticut. It has 3 movie screens, playing double features, all viewing at the same time. It's $8.00 per person, opens @ 7:10 for parking

**PLEASE NOTE: It is supposed to rain and thunderstorm on Fri. and Sat 6/03....so that could throw a major wrench into everything.

ALSO, whatever we choose there are hotels located close to everything, if we wanted to get away

In the Event of RAIN: we could just sleep in, then maybe go out to a nice dinner together and see a play or movie after, Imax, museums during the day? and then stay in a hotel or have a sleepover @ my house..... I don't know...I'm reaching here.

I don't know, I'm open to other options, feel free to add some ideas....please
