The grandparents left this morning after being here all week and truthfully I was ready for it. It probably sounds terrible, but as much as I love them, they drive me a little crazy, at least when we're living together in the same house. Like I've said before, w/o getting into everything, it's like living in a sitcom when they're here. However, I do have to give them a lot of credit for doing as much as they do, or have done. They're starting to slow down now, but they are in their late 70's and they've tried just about everything and anything, especially my grandmother -Momoo. If it's out there, they've tried it : hang-gliding, skiing, kayaking........... The funny thing is that they really didn't do too much until after they retired, with the exception of some traveling. I don't want to wait until I retire to enjoy life. Hopefully in the future, I'll be doing things with my husband before we're retirement age. Things are starting to catch up with my grandfather though. It sucks to get old. But they're still cool.
As you probably know by now, the Mafia game has ended due to OUR TEAM winning!! YAY! Thurs. night, without any planning involved, I knocked off Team #1's Mob Boss, Chris Zaffis. He happened to be strolling down a side street by my house that we were cruising down in the van on our way home and I just happened to have my weapons handy (in the end it was a quiet little sock bomb) and ta-da, that was the end of Team 1. Friday after school another lucky circumstance presented itself in which I was able to kill Rachel (who we thought might've been the mob boss -wasn't) on Team 10 and Friday night we (me, Jared, Christa) piled into the "mafia-mobile" (aka the van -very stealthy- haha) and got Timmy after the Drumline competition, who we later found out was the Mob boss - YAY! The game is over and we won!!!! I'm betting most of you are pretty shocked.
As far as the hair situation goes.... I did go to the salon to see what they could do about it and I basically decided I didn't want them to touch it again out of fear that it would only get worse. But the good news is that she just used a semi-permanent color and it's washing out a little more everyday, getting back to more normal and with this sunny warm weather, it'll be back with the sunny blonde highlights that come with every summer. Very happy about that.
I finally got my last acceptance , which was from Boston University. So everyone said yes, which is cool. All the "wonderful" financial results are in (if you couldn't tell, that was very facetious), except for UMass-Amherst, which I'm anxious to see because they've invited me to join a special Honors Psych Program that they only offer to 48 Freshman, which really made me happy because I don't really consider myself to be in that level, like some others I know, but it still felt good to have it offered. In any case, I don't think I want to start in an honors program the first year until I see how I adjust to college, and then if everything's great, I will apply for it the following year. So, I'm pretty sure I'm going to UConn AND I don't want to hear any crap about it from anyone either. UConn's a good school and it's a great value. I'm so sick of people putting it down. College is what you make it anyway, no matter where you go.
Spent the day working at the Drumline championships on Sat. I'm so glad I got to see everyone perform for the last time. I have to say it felt weird seeing everyone out there and not being a part of it after the last couple of years. Drumline was more my home than marching band was and definitely a lot more fun. I didn't miss the performing so much as spending time with the people. Good times.
It's hard to believe it's April already. Before you know it, it'll all be over, school that is. April, May, 1/2 of June, then bam, over, blink; it'll be time to start college....hmmm. So much I wanted to do, that I didn't, so much I thought I'd have done by now, but didn't.... sigh. Life goes on. One thing I know for sure... it's going to be one hell of a summer!!! : )
