Well last night I was shopping, and I saw 2 "popular" girls that are in my grade. I have had at least 2 classes (probably more) with these girls, they clearly knew who I was. They know my name. They didnt even fucking say "hi". I just looked at them, and smiled like my friendly self, they just looked right through me, didn't say a word, and gave me ( Read more... )

This is my first time posting on this Mansfield community. My name's Brandon Shaker, often referred to simply as Shaker. If that doesn't ring any bells, I'm Ashley's older brother...many more people know her. Anyways, I've had that happen frequently. I've actually come to expect it. It seems like people just don't want to acknowledge people they know but don't associate with. Like they fear being associated with someone they went to school with, or worked with or whatever. It's pretty stupid considering we all go to school and know a lot of people there even if it's just matching a face to a name and never even talking to the person. I'm always willing to acknowledge people I know from Mansfield. Who's going to think less of you if you say hi to someone and then explain to anyone you're with that you went to school with them. I must say though, that I've seen it go both ways. For example I was at the fair at the Tweeter Center one year and I was in line behind a popular girl who I never had a class with, and never talked to, and all I knew was the face and her name. Now I knew like 3 of the girls she was with, but anyways, she noticed me and said hi to me, and quite honestly, I was amazed she knew my name, so that was really cool. There are also people I go to college at Bryant with from Mansfield who don't acknowledge me, even though I've had classes with them. The world's just messed up like that. I could go on for days, but I'm stopping now. Later.
