As for the rest, all of 'em crooks...
Today has been completely awesome in so many lame ways. And unlike about 85% of St Andrews I'm not completely out my face!
My academic mum (mums, really - very very close BBFL) tied all... idk, eight or so of us together by the wrist and sent us out into town on a treasure hunt. Once we managed to get pictures of short people, tall people, funny signs, steal a signed bar mat, etc etc, we went back to theirs and played party games that mostly involved trying to eat various sweets as quick as possible.
My academic father had a wine and cheese night. Very lolsophisticated, even if I'm not all that fond of wine or cheese. He had this very old fashioned book about how to drink wine ('hold the glass up to the light. spend a few moments contemplating the quality of light filtered through the liquid: is it attractive? do you enjoy looking at it?') which we all took turns to read out loud and follow instructions from in our best plummy accents. I might be convinced to read it out for the LitSoc's literary busking thing next week.
Added to Tash taking me out to see Batman Begins (I hadn't seen it before!) and TKD at the Imax on Friday, getting a call from Allan, and bonding a bit with my flatmates, it's a very nice end to a pretty shitty week. \o/
