A brief summary of the past several months:
1) Interned at World Wrestling Entertainment from June - September. Didn't get hired, which is pretty okay, since many other good interns have since met similar fates, which I chalk up to their silly corporate structure / sinking $30 million into '12 Rounds' for heaven's sake / moving 'SmackDown!' to the silly myNetwork / shrinking viewer base.
1.5) Eventually employed at Baby Jake Media in Chappaqua, as Intern / Awesome, due to people actually being nice and appreciating my hard work. I like it there, I really do. We make shows about cops and dune buggies and stuff.
2) Spent a few weeks soul- and job-searching. Wandered around New York City with Phil Rampage. Ate cheese curry twice, which I do adore, and saw Shugo Tokumaru in concert again. Also saw Yura Yura Teikoku and Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, just to prove that I see English-speaking bands too.
3) Bikkuri died unexpectedly. Kind of floored me. I now have a little cockatiel named Jyagaimo who makes very cute noises and enjoys pressing her beak against my face until I pet her. S'okay.
4) Went to Rochester for a weekend. No catharsis. Blast.
5) Most importantly: MOVING TO KOREA ON JANUARY 4th. I will be teaching English for a year in Bundang, just south of Seoul. This is kind of exciting for me, but also scary as shit.
Korea will be chronicled at:
