vanilla cupcakes with peach buttercream cupcakes
that was last weekend's experiment. none this weekend. next time, i'm thinking maybe a lemon or key lime cupcake with blackberry frosting, apparently i'm in a fruit and cupcake mood lately, but who knows what might be next.
the peach buttercream actually turned out amazingly well. considering it's all butter and confectioners sugar, with a little bit of vanilla extract, and peach puree, i'm very impressed that the peach puree was able to take an edge off the incredible sweetness of the basic buttercream recipe, and make it not seem so so sweet, and just enough tang/tart to make the frosting feel really light (which it isn't, not at all).
