Syntax: why it matters

Being the involuntary host of some invasive microscopic life forms these past few days, all I've done has been sneeze, cough, wheeze, and idly browse the internets for amusement.

While admiring a website used by a compendium of antiques dealers, I concluded they really need to do their member-partners a favor and hire some editors. (And maybe some non-electronic translators, the kind capable of looking at the introduction of "blood sausage" into a description of some wood carving and saying "That doesn't look right!" But I digress.) Why do I think an editor would help? (Given their prices, I think they can afford one; roll it into the overhead for website maintenance and let it go.) Here's why: 19th Century English carved box featuring scrolling acanthus leaves around a central medallion with the face of a noble male figure* sitting upon turned legs and straight stretchers.

Am I wrong?

*Which appears to be one of the less attractive renditions of Henry VIII I've seen recently, but it could be Generic Old-timey Guy, who gets a lot of work in 19th century pieces.
