Friday was stringwoman's birthday, so we went to see The Avengers, and then ate steak, and for a finale, while she was relaxed and full of food, and soothed by the sight of superhero violence, I introduced her to the trials of Henri, le chat noir. She had not seen Henri, in all his art-film glory before. I though she might fall off the tailgate of my truck
