Why choosing the right preposition matters
A recent tweet from the BBC stated a Canadian tourist was the victim of an unprovoked stabbing by the River Thames.
Stop and think about that for just a moment. You might want to reread it if you don't see why I'm a bit twitchy over the choice of preposition in the Beeb's tweet.
If you're still unclear as to the source of my concern, please explain to me how the Thames managed to employ a stabbing weapon, what with being a body of water and all.
