It's a One Direction Music Sharing Post!
So one of my favorite things about being in Bandom was how your interest in one band led you to all of this other music and these other bands, and that's pretty much what's happened with One Direction for me, so I thought I would just share a bunch of stuff with you all that I've discovered since falling for those 1D assholes.
*DISCLAIMER*: Because these artists are from the UK, most of these albums are not available yet in the United States. Because I am privileged enough to be able to buy music I have done so where it was possible for me to do so and I will continue to support the artists I enjoy by purchasing their albums when they become available in the U.S. All of the files found here are Zip files and can be unzipped using 7-zip (free download!). Most of you probably know that One Direction was on the UK version of the X Factor where they came in 3rd. The dude who won is Matt Cardle. If you're in One Direction fandom you probably know him best for this:

The second runner up was Rebecca Ferguson
Who briefly dated Zayn Malik
and had this to say when asked about their age difference
because she is awesome.

But the fun doesn't stop there does it Cher?
Nope! Because One Direction's season also brought us this lovely lady, Cher Lloyd who came in 4th.

Okay, but honestly? There were just a ton of talented people on 1D's season and this last dude was so damn good that it's a tragedy he got kicked off as early as he did.

So, that pretty much covers 1D's season of The X Factor, but the X Factor family that plays together stays together! So, One Direction invited their good friend Olly Murs to open for them during the U.S. leg of their Up All Night Tour.
Olly came in second on the 6th series of the X Factor (the year before One Direction).

Olly also co-hosts The Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack who just so happened to have dated Harry Styles for a couple of months in late 2011/early 2012.

Okay! So, in 2011 One Direction played the finale of the X-Factor series 8. They did this little battle of the boy bands with JLS who were runners up in series 5 of The X Factor.

So, One Direction has commented that JLS sort of took them under their wing and watches out for them... which ugh. Shut up. How is everyone in this fandom so adorable? But, anyway they do things like:

Which leads me to that lovely lady who married Marvin. Her name is Rochelle Wiseman and she's a member of a group called The Saturdays.

The Saturdays' album On Your Radar
So, crushes on hot ladies is not a Harry Styles exclusive.
At 3:15 the boys tease Zayn about his crush on Perrie Edwards from Little Mix. If you skip to 11:50 Zayn finally admits that he's into her.
Seems like Perrie thought Zayn was pretty fine as well. Ah, young love.
But who cares about all that because Little Mix is the fucking bomb and Perrie is only 1/4 of the awesomeness.

Little Mix won the 8th series of X Factor. I highly encourage everyone to go watch all their performances on Youtube because they are excellent. Their album is not out yet, but their single Wings has been released in the U.K.

Okay, and continuing along the vein of crushes let's talk about Harry's giant crush on Ed Sheeran.

Since meeting one another Harry and Ed have sort of formed a mutual admiration society. Ed talked about seeing Harry's penis the first time he met him. Ed's also mentioned being couch buddies with Harry. "I'd wake up on a sofa sometimes with Harry on the other sofa."

So, Ed is fucking awesome and probably the artist I am most happy about finding through One Direction. He wrote the track "Moments" off of One Direction's album and has offered them some songs for their second album as well.

And finally, I'm just going to throw this in here because while they don't have any direct connection I did discover this artist through One Direction.
A few months ago Harry got this tattooed on his arm. It's lyrics from a Temper Trap song called Sweet Disposition. But, the lyrics aren't quite right. The actual lyric is "Won't stop to surrender" so I was curious about the slight variation in Harry's tattoo.
Which led me to this cover of Sweet Disposition by Ellie Goulding. The lyric change is present in her version which is also really beautiful.
