Relief!

March 15 came and went without drama. Now, this might be normal in most people's lives, but in mine, it means I'll have a job next year, hopefully at the same school where I teach now. Layoff notices were due yesterday, and I didn't get one. No one even mentioned it, and since they were supposed to be given to us on the 15th and it is now the 16th and still no layoff notices, I think it's time to celebrate, right?

In other news, I'm on the fund raising committee for the library at school - we're having a St. Patrick's day balloon sale. We thought we might sell couple hundred at most, but we've sold 600! At $1 each and about 75 cents profit. Wow! So I'll take the fiddle to school tomorrow and entertain the troops before they leave the breakfast area, provide a little Celtic flavor to the day. I may even have a gig tomorrow night, last minute. Maybe not, I'll hear tomorrow.

And I'll be teaching a science class after school for 2nd and 3rd graders, only 12 hours worth, but still, it's extra money. And experience!
I'll teach about fossils, probably. Maybe properties of solids, liquids, gases. Not sure yet. I have to figure something out. Ideas, anyone? Especially ideas for easy experiments that work even with little kids and non-exact measurements?
