Has anyone played at an event like a wedding? I have to... Ever hear of Canon in D (of course you have!).... It's a pain to play.... By yourself. I just have to get a recording of the background and I'm set. I'm representing my family there, and my gift to my brother (the Groom) is my music, so it had better not be crappy ( Read more... )

What you might want to try for the background music is find a really good MIDI version and use a program like Cakewalk to take out the first violin part. Once you do that, export it as a .WAV and burn it to a CD. TADA! Instant KARAOKE version.

I did the same thing for Devil Went Down to Georgia because I got tired of so many people requesting it and having to tell them my guitar lackey wasn't with me so it wouldn't sound good if I didn't have accompaniment.

Good luck on Canon, the wedding, & with school!

Yeah.... I was planning on making the MIDI on NoteWorthy Composer, then recording what comes out on a mic, therefore making a wav. then burning that! Sound good?

I actualy made the MIDI a long time ago (copied from a piece of music note by note). I have a cello friend, but he can't come.... My other friends don't play a stringed instrument.
