YAY! Finaly!

I have my own violin! 4/4 14 years old (I'm 5 months older than it!) and $600 some dollars! German made. I like it! What should I name it? Something from a Video Game? Something from a book? The name "Lucid" seems to stick though. Think it's a good name?

Mayth. When I told my dad that it was as old as me, he didn't like it. He thinks it shortens the playing time I get with it. How old is _old_ anyway?

I'm thinking of pushing the violin on my kids when I get there in life. They'll use my violin too! And I'll tell them to pass it on, and to tell their childeren to pass it on.... Then it will be 400 years before you know it!

heh - tell your dad I'm playing a 160 year old violin that sounds infinitely better than my 8 year old violin - or the brand new violin I had been renting.

I also have a 30-40 year old flute.

Most instruments age well, and that is particularly true with stringed instruments that are well taken care of.
