We spent the evening at some friends' house, one of whom is from Ireland and takes this holiday VERY SERIOUSLY, so we were treated to tons of good food, great drink (which I of course abstained from. *envious sigh*), songs and stories. She sang us all "For God and St. Patrick" and then we all told stories about a time we felt lucky, ranging from the silly (one of our friends who recently received some excellent imported coffee on a bad day) to the funny (another friend who told a story about driving drunk in the 70's, being pulled over by two different cops and let go each time), to the serious (lots of relationship stories, tales of near death and just feeling generally lucky in the face of others' misfortune). It was very nice, although I spent most of the evening perpetually embarrassed and uncomfortable, as our hosts were OMGTHRILLED! about our baby news, and felt the need to announce and toast it approximately on the hour. I don't do well as the center of attention. It was very sweet though. And! we have leftover corned beef brisket for lunches! Yummmmmm.
Walking Dead finale tonight, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I have my zombie-bloody-handprint ear jewelery on, to celebrate. :)
