As he does, he finds he finally can remember clearly: he'd come back that day and had instantly found himself swept into a huge hug. Rose had looked dishevelled, a bit scared and absolutely lovely, and she'd told him she'd just gotten a bit frightened with him gone so long. In apology he'd taken her to a deserted planet where great winged creatures sang as they soared through the skies, and she'd told him that day that she would stay with him forever.

SO SAD. :(

The way you worked it into canon is awfully smart and convincing. I love it.

Guh. That was absolutely wonderful. It breaks my heart completely but I absolutely love it. Of course he wants a last chance with Rose. And the time crossing to the past thing is definitely something that's been done before (I'm a SUCKER for these kinds of fics), but adding in the additional layers of Dark and Crazy Doctor after WOM adds a whole new level of emotion and desperation.

I do love that she went with it and didn't challenge him too much (she won't stop arguing with him in the fic that I'm writing), but I also love the Doctor's epiphany at the end that he DID tell her in her past timeline, and all the times that she was asking him to say it, she already knew, she just wanted to hear it. I love that.
