Not Dean; Dean knew he’d have the chance to read it when the time came, and that the “when” of that wasn’t up to him. It was Dean who gave it back, though. Handed it over with a look deep in his eyes that said he thought he’d FUBARed the situation somehow.

So. Fucking. Dean.

That there should be a classical ballet on the theme.

He’d seen the covers, teased her about them, asked once or twice (or a hundred times) what was so important that she needed to write it down to remember it.

“Not for now,” she said. “For later.”

The books had all gone up in the fire. And second only to having her back, he wanted those damn books.

Nice touch.

Perfect end, too.

Thank you!

Mary's diaries aren't exactly canon - they're sort of canonISH - but I'd like to see Kripke explain them. When they get back to writing. And filming. And airing. Eek.

Did that make him…what, unrealistic? Obsessive? Unable to move on, get down to the business of living?

No, he thought. It made him hers, the way he’d always been, for as much of his life that counted.

John did love his Mary. I wish JDM could have been on a bit more to explore their relationship. Oh well, that's what fic is for.

Oh, me too! But we can help answer questions for each other. That does help.

I haven't been commenting on this group of stories but I've read them all and enjoyed them thoroughly. Lovely in-depth studies of all the characters and their past.

Great job.
And Happy Christmas!

Another perfect one! You have Ellen's voice down to an art and John's too.

How is it that you can write all these amazing stories, and I can't seem to think up enough original comments to post one to each story? Really, though, THE best stories I've read in a long time, and not just holiday stories. I truly hope you have a wonderful holiday - your little stories have certainly brightened mine!! Trish

I have NO idea how I did it. The material just kept coming. I'm sort of in awe of myself, because that is way above my normal output, even during a busy time.

I'm glad you enjoyed the stories!
