This was wonderful! I love your Pastor Jim stories. You write the boys so well, Carol. Mel Gibmans made me laugh. I love seeing slices of the boys' childhood. Thank you for sharing this.

You're very welcome! I've been wandering around a lot lately, thinking I'd like to tinker with some short fics, but time just hasn't allowed. It took a post from charis_kalos to nudge me and the Muse into action - I guess we can't resist the temptation of a Pastor Jim fic!

Good story. Sad. It always makes me angry, how John totally ignored, strike that, demolitioned their childhood. I like it when they're with Jim.

Well, now, I take a somewhat (okay, a lot) different view of John - if you take a look around, you'll find quite a few Weechesters-and-John fics in my catalogue, of the "awwwwww" variety. But if folks want to take the other point of view, that's fine too. Glad you enjoyed this one!

We are all affected by the other people we interact with...Yes, the boys, especially Dean, used their father as the baseline for what love feels like, but there were others, like Bobby and Jim, who also left an impression that the boys absorbed.

Oh, that's achy. I like Pastor Jim better than Mel Gibmans, too.

I suspect that might be a fairly common opinion. :)
