Well hardcore was just a sub-genre of punk, until people realized that punk rock sucks and should not be played...ever.

I half agree. Post-punk is delicious. Joy Division, Interpol and Echo and the Bunnymen are great bands.

I don't even call them post-punk out of pure hate for punk rock, I respect older punk bands but they still sucked, but newer bands don't even deserve respect in my opinion.
