Inspired by The Smallest Stars and therefore inspiring the first challenge of
drarry500 (though this wasn't long enough.) I'm imagining the boys are 9/10ish.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are.” Draco called, swishing his wand through some of the bushes surrounding the Malfoy manor. There was a rustle behind him.
“Boo!”
Draco beamed, “Harry!” he clapped his hands together in delight.
“Shh, Draco.” Harry said, quickly covering the other boys mouth with his hand. “No one can know I’m here.”
Draco nodded and when Harry removed his hand Draco did a zip and lock sign across his mouth then threw away the imaginary key.
Harry’s eyes widened in mock horror, “oh, no, Draco!” he said, voice hushed but with such obvious emotion that it rang loudly in Draco’s ears. “What if we can’t find the key? You’ll never be able to talk again!”
Draco held a hand to his heart and swooned, Harry caught him, laughing quietly. “I’ve got you.”
Draco nodded, that was something he had always known. Since Harry had first appeared, years ago.
Harry’s grip tightened on Draco’s shoulder and he smiled, “I’ve got you forever. Forever young, never old.” He laughed, “forever playing.” He pecked Draco’s cheek.
“Harry,” Draco murmured, lips against ear, “we will have to grow up. Someday.”
“Naughty Draco, your mouth is meant to be all locked up.” Harry tapped Draco on the nose in a scolding gesture.
“Harry.”
Harry sighed, “No, Draco, we don’t.” he let go of his friend and turned away. “I want to go now.”
Draco rushed to grab Harry’s arm, “Don’t go.” He whined.
“I don’t like you at the moment.” Harry stated.
“Please don’t go.” Draco blinked back tears, “I promise we never have to grown up.”
Harry narrowed his eyes, “promise?”
“Promise.” Draco said, eagerly leaning into Harry and pulling him into a hug. “Just don’t leave me.”
“Fine then,” Harry grinned, happy again, “now remember you can’t talk, your mouth is locked.”
