Special Author's Note:  I’ve made up a rock band in this story called Tamera’s First Born.  The members of the band are completely fictional; however, any song titles, lyrics and album names are taken from the real life band Coheed an Cambria.  I will post links in various chapters that will include specific Coheed and Cambria songs mentioned.

Epilogue

Toward the end of Calad's stay, they experienced a bit of trouble.  The rhythm guitarist for TFB, Mike, had stewed for long enough from the fact that Calad seemed to want to be in LA more than at home.  It was true what he'd said to Adam before, that his problem - among other things - was that Adam was gay.  It was also because he sang pop music, and he had this whole glam thing going.  Mike hated pop and glam.  He was afraid that Calad was like...converting or something.  After a couple weeks, when Calad hadn't come home, Mike decided to fly out and have a talk with him personally.  When he caught up with them...it really couldn't have been on a worse night.

See, Tommy thought it would be funny to...make Calad up just once.  The band had done a show that evening, and Calad was hanging out with them in the dressing room afterward.  They were laughing, feeling good because the band performed well, and the mood was silly.  Calad couldn't stop from giggling when Tommy started putting foundation on him.  Adam got out the glitter and eyeliner, LP painted one hand with black finger nail polish, Monte did the other.  They spent about a half hour glamming the boy up, laughing, and making jokes.  They were laughing so hard, they almost cried when Calad was turned around so he could see himself in the mirror.  They did his black hair up in a spike, slicked back on the sides, and all agreed that Adam now had a 'mini me'.

Tommy said, "You look like you're ready to go out dancing, head banger!"

Adam took him seriously.  "No, we could!!!" he exclaimed.  "You can't even recognize him!"

It was true.  With all they'd done to the boy, even dressing him in one of Tommy's more show off-y jackets, hardly anyone would be able to guess that he was Calad Areese.   They were actually halfway to deciding to go to a club when a stage hand entered the dressing room and said that Calad had a visitor.  It was Mike.

The guitarist took one look at Calad, and his face dropped.  Tommy and the others cringed a bit, but Adam stood next to Calad with a cheeky smile on his face and said, "Don't look so shocked, Mike.  We're just having fun.  I think he looks pretty!"  A few people snickered at that, but Calad was serious.  He had the look of someone being caught, like 'deer in the head lights'.

Mike just looked at the boy and said, "Calad, I wanna talk to you."  He looked angry as he left the room.  It was a real buzz kill, and he waited down the hall while Adam and the others worked to make Calad, Calad again.  As Monte tried to remove the nail polish and Tommy did his best to smooth down Calad's Adam-ized hair, Adam calmly removed the face make up, actually doing a good job of getting most of the glitter off.

"Sweetie, you don't have to talk to him if you don't want to.  You know that, right?" Adam said.

Calad said, "Yeah, I want to though.  He's gotta tell me what the fuck his problem is right now."

"Fuck yeah, son," said Monte, working on the other hand now.

Tommy looked worried.  "I don't know, brother, he looked a little pissed when he saw you."  He looked at Adam and dropped his voice.  "You think he's been drinking?"

Adam didn't look that concerned.  He focused on Calad but said gently, "I wouldn't send my boy to the lions, Glitterbaby.  Calad's gonna be juuuuust fine."

Calad opened his eyes, now free of make up, and looked at Adam.  He knew they wouldn't let anything happen to him.

After only ten minutes, Calad immerged from the dressing room and saw Mike standing at the other end of the hall.  The band hung back as the boy walked toward him.  They watched intently as the two of them talked, and everything seemed pretty calm in the beginning, but it was obvious that Mike was trying to contain himself.  He even hugged his midsection unconsciously and kept his distance from Calad, acting like a 'phobe.

Talking turned into arguing, but their voices were still too low for the others to hear what they said.  For the most part, it was still under control.

Mike was getting more and more irritated at the presence of the Glamily staring at him.  He asked, more like a plea, if they could step outside and talk in real privacy.  Mike promised he'd calm down if they could just talk alone.  Calad, determined to get the bottom of this, agreed and gestured for everyone to hang out.  "I'll be right back!" he called.

"Where the fuck?" LP said.  "I know he did not just go off with that guy."

The four of them weren't sure what to do for a second as Mike and Calad left the hall through an exit.  Monte considered, "Maybe we oughta mind our own business.  I mean, we shouldn't get up in another band's mix like this."  Calad did seem to know what he was doing.

But Adam, looking straight ahead, said, "Guys...wait here."  Adam made to follow the High Rockers, but Tommy immediately stopped him.

"No..." he forbade, suddenly afraid for his boyfriend.

Adam looked down at the shorter man and put a hand on his pretty, smooth face.  "Don't worry, baby.  If this turns out the way I think it will, then I've got something I've been wanting to give that guy for quite a while now."  He turned to the other guys.  "I'm just gonna keep my eye on 'em.  Stay here with Tommy."  And Adam strutted away while his boyfriend looked on, frowning.

When Adam opened the exit door, he immediately saw the back lot of the venue.  It was night, and the lot was well lit with Calad and Mike standing about thirty feet away, facing each other.  He merely peaked out of the door, remaining unseen from the outside.  If the band saw him jet outside, they'd know to follow.  They wondered what was happening.

Mike had an attitude, saying it was time for Tamera's First Born to get their lead singer back and stop pussyfooting around with these 'glamtards'.

"Shut up, Mike," Calad warned, somehow able to defend himself now, even with a few specks of glitter that Adam missed still clinging to his face.

"Hey, don't tell me to shut up.  I'm serious, Calad.  You don't belong in LA.  You belong with us...you belong to us...to High Rock.  Don't go all glam just because the 'Glitter Queen' gives you a few hugs."

"Fuck you, Mike.  Adam doesn’t deserve to be talked about like that," Calad raised his voice a little.

"I don't give a fuck what he deserves!  He can kiss my ass for keeping you here.  He'd probably like that, too," Mike added accusingly.

Calad was immediately pissed and shoved Mike.  Not expecting it, the larger man did stumble just a bit.

"Uh oh..." Adam whispered to himself from afar.

Mike became red, his temper flaring, and he shoved Calad back, not having enough respect for the young man to listen him or the class to just walk away.  Calad hit him in the chest weakly, not knowing how to fight, but before he hardly had the chance to make contact, Mike pushed him away and knocked him to the ground once again.

I was waiting for that, asshole...Adam shot out toward the scene at a run.  The band saw him disappear behind the door and raced down the hall to follow.

By the time Adam was half way toward Mike, Calad was trying to get up, and Mike saw him coming.  He pointed a finger at Adam and said in the heat of the moment, his testosterone rising, "Don't start with me, fagot!"

Oh, a little bonus...Adam thought as he looked at Mike as though he could kill him.  The singer's fist was raised at the precise moment, and with fury in his eyes, Adam slugged Mike right in the jaw, causing the other man to fall flat on his face.  Shoot, he fell even before Calad could finish standing.

The guitarist was reeling but conscious, so Adam knew he could hear him.  "THIS 'FAGOT' JUST KNOCKED YOU FLAT, BITCH!!!"

Yeah, Mike heard that.

Adam was breathing heavily from adrenaline and stood over Mike.  The band didn't see the punch in time, but they did see Mike on the ground and ran across to meet the others.

Mike moved to get up, shaking on all fours and then to his feet, turning around.  He had the beginning of a bloody, fat lip and could see that retaliation would do him no good.  Not only did Adam look like he was channeling Dirty Hairy, the rest of the band was standing behind him.  Tommy especially was waiting to make a move.

Mike was breathing hard, but he said, "You freaks!  Do you have any idea for how much I'm gonna sue your asses?"

"Nothing, I'm afraid."  A deep voice said.  Everyone looked to see Dwayne Cole coming out from no where.

"Dwayne...what the fuck are you doing here, man?" Mike said, checking on his wrist to see how much blood was coming from his lip.

The TFB manager said, "Grady called me as soon as you left, son.  I've been following you half way across this damn country."  He sounded so cool, like a badass cowboy.  "And I'll tell you something else..." he continued.  "You're gonna leave Calad alone from now on.  This is the last time.  Calad's given you enough chances, and now it's time for me to do what he should have done months ago.  You're out, Mike.  And you're not gonna say a damn thing about getting knocked around a little, makin' trouble for these people."

"Oh, is that right?" said Mike, all but expanding his chest in a show of male dominance.

"Yeah, that is right, unless you want the whole world to know you got punched out by a gay dude..."  He turned to the group and added in the same cool tone, "...no offense, Adam."

"None taken..." Adam said with a smirk, looking at Mike.

Dwayne walked away, giving the temperamental guitarist something to think about.

It was definitely over now.  Mike looked on like a douche as Adam lead everyone back inside.  Calad's and Tommy's arms were around Adam's waist, and his arms rested around both their shoulders.  Monte and LP brought up the rear, wanting to look back and punk Mike out a little but deciding to leave well enough alone.

The only thing that dampened the elation just a bit was that Adam's hand was now killing him.  After being examined later they found out it was nothing serious, and the pain soon went away.  Calad felt bad that Adam hurt his hand but couldn't get over the impressive way Adam put Mike in his place.  Adam laughed.  "Don't cry for me, RockerBaby.  I've been wanting to do that for a long fuckin' time."

Monte, LP, and Calad laughed and joked as they recalled what just happened, Monte pretening to body slam an imaginary Mike when he reenacted what he thought the punch must have looked like.  They felt really good in spite of the rather hairy situation that nearly put a hitch into the good time they'd been having.

Tommy stood by Adam, stairing at him and licking his lips.  "Damn, Adam...that was kind of...hot, you dropping him like that."  The blonde was impressed.  "I never saw that side of you before..."  His voice dripped with lust as he took the taller man by the waist and pressed himself against him.  Adam swallowed.  "You wouldn't want to show me that aggressive side sometime, would you?"

Adam stared down momentarily at the dark, chocolate brown eyes that stared up at him through long lashes.  "Um...we'll be back in a minute, guys."  Adam murmured.  The band barely had enough time to realize he'd said anything before he dragged his boy through the door of some unoccupied room in the venue.  LP rolled his eyes a little and gestured with his head for Monte to follow him so they could kick it in the dressing room.  Monte laughed a little as he followed, inviting Calad to come with them.   Calad let out a breath and smiled to himself.  After what just happened, everything felt alright now.  Everything was fine.
