I'm not sure about that first sentence (unless I can make my mark in the shadowy background) but the rest is definitively me. I've often lamented about how inconstant my affections seem to be (at least in fandom) but it's often only a case of seeming fickle because some new thing has caught my attention. However, I'll often cycle back around to passionate love of something, given enough time.
