This is NOT a proper fic, just a little scribble in reaction to
someone actually asking Kris what the biggest misconception about him is. He said "that I'm a super nice guy" - I know, right? When it's so obvious he's a mischievous little shit - but this is what I wish he'd said.
"... biggest misconception people have of you?"
Kris smiled, easy and relaxed, and opened his mouth to say, "That I'm straight."

Kris kept smiling.
"... I don't. What."
-
After they released the interview, it took Twitter seven seconds to explode.
-
"I'm not, you know. Straight. I don't know where people get that from. I've never said it."
"But you're. It's not unreasonable, you have a wife, you-"
"Had," Kris said, pleasantly.
"What."
"I had a wife."
-
Jim Cantiello squealed with glee - and cried bitter tears that Kris would hand a scoop like that to anyone else.
-
Katie didn't seem to know where to look. Her prompters off-camera were worse than useless. "So, you aren't- You got-"
Kris took pity on her. "I'm divorced," he said.
"And you're." She faltered. "You're really not...?"
"Straight?" Kris's smile quirked a little wider.
Katie nodded.
"No," said Kris, "I promise, I'm not."
