Random-but-fun Huntik stuff

Feb 07, 2009 01:37

Here I present, for the viewing pleasure of anyone who comes across it, a short (and by no means comprehensive) list of the heroes (and baddies) of Huntik: Secrets and Seekers and their Titans. Spoilers for up to episode 24 at least.

Dante’s Titans
Solwing: Quetzalcoatl-bird...and by that, I mean that it is a blue bird wearing a "headdress" of some sort that could perhaps be described as vaguely Aztec-inspired. Seems to be quite a powerful titan.
Caliban: Yeah! He’s a sword-wielding wild-man. Dante’s preferred titan.
Metagolem: The Huntik equivalent of Geodude? Nope! Still, I think he must be an "Earth-based" (or whatever the Huntik equivalent of that is) titan. He's got rounded arms (like logs?), and they pack quite a punch.
(Legendary Titan of Earth/body(?) Behemoth: YEAH! Reminds me of a Blastoise with a world on his back (not unlike Discworld’s Great A’tuin) - that’s a reference to the myth of Atlas, isn’t it? Hurray for Huntik’s cultural references! Okay, so when I mentioned this little observation to my sister sometime after writing what I've struck out now, she reminded me (?) that Behemoth is a hippo (?right?) whereas Blastoise (and Great A'Tuin) are turtles. Still, I must still yell HURRAY! for Huntik's cultural references, because if I remember my mythology (and biblical readings) correctly, a "behemoth" was a monster of old, and presumed today to be a hippo or some variety thereof

Sophie’s Titans:
Sabriel: a mind-powers based titan (?) who is also good with a sword. She's a better defender than she is an attacker. Sophie’s preferred titan.
Icarus: like the boy of myth, only a titan. Icarus is a humanoid titan with (I think two bipartate(? is that the word? I want to mean 'with two parts') wings. A "basic" (?in terms of fighting?) titan.

Lok’s Titans:
Freelancer: or, the Titan Knight. Uses a lance and a shield, and was the preferred titan of mediaeval Seekers. Lok’s preferred titan too.
Kiteray(?)/or is it Kitteran?: fondly referred to by me as the Butterfree of Huntik, only Kiteray/Kitteran allows its Seeker the power of flight by attaching itself to his/her back.
Sprinter: A "master of tricks and traps", as Lok calls him, Sprinter is a sort of fox-like creature. He gives me a Ninetales-ish vibe. Gosh, why do I keep comparing the titans to the Pokemon? (but it's such a similar concept...
Lindorm/n/Lindoran: the titan that was hidden in St. George’s sword. Difficult to control.
(Legendary Titan of Spirit: )

Zhalia’s Titans:
Not sure, but at least one (which seems to be her preferred one) is vaguely chameleon-ish. Camelor/Cameleor (as I think it's called) It's called Gareon.
King Basillisk: a giant snake/dragon type titan who is difficult to bond with and hard to control.

Montague's titans:
Fenrir (as of episode 8 "Two Become One): A mighty wolf-like titan that Dante presented to Montague saying that "a titan bonds best with a Seeker with a similar personality" or something. As old as the legends of Thor. Oooh, Fenrir is also the name of the "Princess of Darkness" in Pretear! I wonder if there's any connection or if the name is just chosen because it sounds cool, dark and evil?

Greer’s Titans:
Breaker
Megataur: inherited from his father, Megataur is a sort of minotaur-like creature, a bull with golden chains

Other (Suit) Titans:
Redclaw: sort of a Ripjaws of Huntik. One eyed creature with long claws (and fangs?). Goes up against Caliban often.
Mindprobe(?)/Minddrone(?): a one-eyed creature, sort of like ‘Ship’ from the Star Wars: Legacy of the Force books.
GarGhoul

If any of that was helpful, would you mind leaving a comment? I'd just like to know how you found either this entry and/or my journal. Thanks.
