Photo Challenge "Should I close my eyes?" Remus asked, sardonically as Sirius lead him into the empty Gryffindor common room. He felt the the heat from Sirius' hand in his and never wanted it to end.
"Don't be an arse. Here..." Sirius walked Remus to one of the high-backed chair next to James, who merely shook his and rolled his eyes. Only Peter seemed exited, which never boded well.
Sirius stood in the middle of the room, turned to face his closest mates, and took a deep breath. He pulled out a Muggle photograph of a big, black dog and concentrated...
...POP!

Happy Birthday, Lupin! “What the bloody--!?” Remus nearly fell off the chair in shock and disbelief.
Sirius looked rather upset by the lacklustre response.
James continued shaking his head. “Sad.”
Only Peter seemed amused. “Brilliant, Sirius!”
Sirius bowed. “Thank you, Peter.”
“Sirius Black, what is the meaning of this?” Remus demanded.
Sirius turned his back to Remus and the others, and looked down at his arse. There, sticking out of his britches was a bushy black tail. It leapt and swatted at the air.
“Happy Birthday, Lupin.” Sirius said, with a sly grin. “By this time next year, it’ll be even better!”

Gambling Sirius twisted, turned, and arched his back trying to catch a better glimpse of his handiwork. James thought the sight rather ironic: Sirius chasing after his own tail.
“I’d gamble that Mariam Weatherbe would find your animagus form rather fitting,” James said, laughing.
“Mariam Weatherbe can go get splinched for all I care,” said Sirius.
Remus sat in his chair, shocked. Tears threatened to drown his vision. “You’ve all gone mad.”
When he turned to find James staring at him with those beautiful blue eyes and a pair of newly-sprouted antlers, Remus Lupin knew what it meant to be loved.

Happy Birthday, Lupin! With hunched shoulders, Severus Snape stood over Damocles Belby, who was poring over one of his Herbology tomes. “Why do you bother with that drivel?”
Damocles looked up, his serious expression softening when he saw Severus glowering over him.
“Oh, hello, Severus. Herbology, you mean?”
Severus nodded and sat in the chair opposite. Despite constantly questioning the seventh-year at every turn, Severus honestly admired him.
“There’s power in the things of the world, Severus, and not just things we brew…”
Severus snorted.
Damocles attention was drawn to Remus who had just entered the library. “… some things are born powerful.”

Beyond the Veil Sirius found Remus in the library, poring over his Potions tomes. He flopped in the chair next to his studious housemate and playfully bumped shoulders. When he looked up, Sirius flashed him a kittenish smile.
Remus scowled. “Coquet.”
“No French, Moony. It’s unbecoming.”
“Aren’t you Blacks French?” Remus asked.
Sirius shrugged. “--ish…”
Remus laughed. “I’m surprised to see you here; this being a library and all.”
“I see beyond your thinly-veiled insult, unbeliever. Besides, you’re here,” Sirius replied, as if that were answer and reason enough.
When Sirius leaned closer, Remus found he had suddenly forgotten how to read.

LuckSirius loved watching Remus study, especially when his brow furrowed and he chewed on his bottom lip. Under the table, his knee inched closer to Remus’. Before it could make contact, however…
“You're awfully pleased with yourself, today," Remus said, smiling into his book.
“Uncle Alphard’s sending me a hawk," Sirius answered.
“Pushing your luck with that, you know? Why can’t you just get an owl like everyone else?”
“Because everyone else has one, unbeliever," Sirius scoffed. “Plus, they’re more interesting than owls, at any rate.”
“There’s little point arguing, is there?” Remus asked.
“... as if that ever stopped you.”
