Sometimes, all you needed was that brief, quiet moment to remember. Sometimes, all you needed to do was to feel her in your arms, leaning against your side, her eyes closed and breathing calm to know.
Sometimes, all you needed was that one day, every once in a while, to hold her while she slept. Sometimes, all you needed was to know that she trusted you enough - finally - to be so vulnerable in your embrace.
Sometimes, all you wanted was to close your eyes and rest beside her.
You didn’t need to - you never did. You didn’t require sleep to feel refreshed like she did. But that didn’t matter.
Sometimes, all you desired was that little moment in time - needed or not - to be with her.
