No.
It can’t be that simple …
He glanced at the scattered papers around him - scribbled notes that wouldn’t make sense to anyone but him. Hell, he could barely make sense of them half the time.
Taking another drink from the half-empty bottle on the table, he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, ignoring the glaring red numbers that tried to tell him 3:17 a.m. was far too late to still be awake.
But if he really had the answer …
After all this time, after all the searching, all the long nights and wrong turns, could he have finally found what he was looking for?
Could he have finally found the reason for why it happened all those years ago?
And just because of some pure, dumb luck on a simple hunt two weeks ago?
He stared at the pages once again, trying to decipher something in them that would tell him that, once again, he’d come across a dead end.
Because if he’d learned anything in all this time, Winchesters weren’t lucky enough to have the right answer just stumble into their lap like this.
If they had any sort of luck, it definitely wasn’t the good kind.
