I have a real soft spot for post-war fics that show Dudley and Harry reaching some kind of an understanding. This story works especially well. I think what I like most about it is the way that all through the process of coming to terms with Dudley's overtures, Harry is surrounded by members of his new family, the one that loves and appreciates him.

Dudley is great here -- a very plausible future version of the one who shook Harry's hand at the start of DH. He's still awkward, but he's gone on thinking about their childhood. And I'm sure Hestia and Dedalus would have told him all kinds of things if he'd been interested enough to listen.

And Ginny is fantastic, all fiery and protective but also so in tune with Harry's feelings. She's good for him. :)

I've always been quite taken with JKR's comments that Harry and Dudley had a Christmas card relationship, and I wondered how that might have come about.

I love this...I've loved most of the post-war stuff showing Harry and Dudley making amends with each other, and this was no different. Very lovely!

I'm another one with fondness for stories of Harry and Dudley learning to get along with each other. You did a great job with all of the characters. Well done.

I like to think that Harry and Dudley reached a truce, even if it was only to send cards once a year.

This fic was recommended to me by rumpelsnorcack who posts here on LJ. She read a fic of mine where post-war Dudley made an appearance and she thought I might enjoy this. She was right. It was very nicely done. Dudley was suitably remorseful and Harry and Ginny were perfect.

I especially loved Harry and the children. If I manage to find any of your other fics, I will read them. I find LJ incredibly difficult to navigate. It took me more than half an hour of searching to actually find this fic.

BTW, your 'Best Friends' avatar is my computer wallpaper. I love that photo.

Thanks for getting back to me. My Dudley fic is really a Harry/Ginny fic. So far, Dudley ahs just turned up in the first chapter but I do intend to include him again, though not sure where. He and Harry have an established relationship in this. The fic is on fanfiction.net.
