What a great first line, and scene-setting, too, with the sticky oppressive heat, and the way different Weasleys are mourning. I really like the idea that Charlie and Percy used to be close, and it's a nice touch to have Ginny aware that sometimes she does channel Molly, heh.

Poor Harry -- I can just imagine him trying to work through a combination of confusion and survivor's guilt. Ginny would definitely have a knack for pulling him out of it -- although it's just as nice to see the rest of the Weasleys, and even Kingsley, looking out for him as well.

Thank you for your review, you're a star!

I can't even begin to comprehend how somebody would go back to living a (relatively) normal live after almost 7 years of living a life that was almost pre-destined.

Ginny has always had the knack of getting Harry to snap out of it, and it's nice to bring that out in fic.

This is a great take on the emotional state of both Harry and the Weasley's after the war. I especially like the fact that Molly sought - and received - help in dealing with her depression. So often the emotional toil of the events in the series were just shrugged off by the characters, and it's nice to see a realistic portrayal for a change. And Harry has a long way to go, but the Weasleys are always there for him.

Very nice.

May I friend you?

Thank you so much for the lovely review!

I think the reason that a lot of the emotional moments were seemingly shrugged off in the series is because the characters were in a constant state of crisis, and had no choice but to soldier on. They didn't have the luxury of being able to deal with their grief in an appropriate and timely manner.

And of course you can friend me, it's lovely to make new friends!

Great story, showing us how everyone tried coping with Fred's death, and Harry's breakdown, Ginny being able to emotionally reach him ... that's one of the great dynamics I love about the H/G relationship.

Please continue writing more H/G, you do get them as characters ... plus others ;-)

Thanks! I can't imagine everyone just picking things up and carrying on with life as normal following the events of DH.

I fully intend to keep on writing H/G, I promise!

I like the way you chose to inject drama into the everyday Burrow scene -- and I love the way you tied in the prompt at the very end. Nice work.

I'm glad you were able to join us for the challenge. :)

Thanks for the comment!

I've always liked taking the little moments and developing them into something bigger (no comments about making mountains out of molehills, lol!).

As soon as I saw the You are free to invent your life prompt, I knew exactly what I wanted to write and what the last line would be. It was a fantastic challenge, and I hope there'll be another one before too long!
