Angel sat on the sofa, his head resting on the back of the cushions. His eyes were closed, blocking out any light that might have gotten in. No light got in, but hot tears slid out, making their way down his face.

Cordy watched from the doorway as the tears slid down his face, her heart shattering. She quietly made her way to him and sat down beside him.

He knew the moment she'd entered the room, but didn't bother hiding his grief. He knew it would be futile; she'd see it anyway.

A moment later, soft fingers gently brushed his tears away. "Don't cry, baby," she whispered.

He opened his eyes. "I miss him so much, Cordy."

She nodded sadly. "So do I."

It was then that he noticed the grief in her own eyes, saw the unshed tears glistening. He pulled her into his arms, holding her close. "Let it go, baby," he told her softly. She sobbed, and, moments later, Angel felt his own tears fall down his face as he cried with her; felt them as they left his face and mixed with hers. They cried until they had no more tears left.

Wiping the tears from her face, Cordy pulled him to his feet and wrapped her arms around him in the tenderest of hugs. She didn't let go, just stood there, holding him. Finally, she pulled away and took his hand, leading him to the bed. She gently pushed him onto it and then joined him on it. She slid into his arms, laying her head on his chest. Looking into his eyes, she smiled gently. "I love you."

"I love you, too," he told her, kissing her sweetly.

He pulled the blankets over their bodies before closing his eyes. Cordy lowered her head to his chest once again and closed her own eyes. They were asleep within minutes, wrapped in the comfort of their embrace.
