"What's your New Year's resolution, Angel?"
"I don't make resolutions."
"You have to make a resolution," she told him.
"Why?"
"Because. It's a tradition. To not do it would be--"
"What?"
"Unamerican."
"I'm Irish," he reminded her.
"Fine. I have something I need to do," she told him, walking in the direction of the front door. He knew instantly he'd hurt her without meaning to.
"Cordy, wait."
"What?" she asked, without turning around.
He rushed to her side and gently lifted her face so her eyes met his. A single tear fell. "I'm sorry. Baby, don't cry."
"It's stupid, I know. It's just--"
"What?"
"It's the one thing I always did with my family growing up. And now you're my family. I just wanted to continue that tradition with my new family," she told him softly.
He smiled. "Well, I don't know if you can call it a resolution, but I did make myself a promise," he whispered.
"What's that?" she asked softly.
"To never let you forget how much I love you," he told her tenderly.
"Oh, Angel."
"I love you so much, Cordy."
"I love you, too, Angel," she told him, a small smile on her face.
With those words, he lowered his lips to her waiting ones.
