He couldn't explain it. And for once in his life, he didn't care. All he knew was that Scully was going to be okay. Her cancer was in remission and he felt like he could breathe again for the first time since she'd told him about the dreaded disease. Tomorrow he would take her home and they could begin to get on with their lives. Today he would ask the woman he loved to be his wife. FBI regulations be damned. If there was one thing he learned from all of this, it was to live each day to the fullest. And he had every intention of doing just that.
