I can't believe it. London/Paris was amazing, but I am still in vacation mode and I even forgot to go to lecture today. Mind you, lecture consists of like 6 people and my absence was completely obvious. It just slipped my mind. I was retardedly cruising through Fresher's Fair and buying a panini from the corner stand. What a freak. All the Brits are here, which is way weird because I'm used to having all this to myself. I'm feeling especially anti-social and though I met pretty cool people at movie night, all the people I encountered were not overly friendly. I saw two grls all slutted out to go out come down the stairs so I said hello, they just stared at me. Bitches! One was even wearing Ugg boots, so you know she was one of those. (ps. i actually like Ugg boots and wanted them but because they are warm, not so i can be pamela anderson, besides Uggs were just casually worn waay before the whole Ugg craze especailly by girls in swim @ OV) I watched "Love Actually" When I first saw it, i was like alright..it's chessy but cute. But this time the cheese was inexcusable. The movie sucks. Some of the stories make no sense. It's all about love, nothing deeper than that but in the end Laura Linney is left all alone with her insane brother (why couldn't she work it out with Carl??) and Snape and Emma Thompson are on rocky terms. PLUS one minor point, the movie ends at the airport and all the interconnected character also all happen to be there- what a coincidence! But why didn't Emma Thompson wait for her PM brother, and what were the porny couple doing? They just got randomly stuck there by the director- hey look we're engaged and randomly at an airport for no reason, woo hoo! Ok sure, it's not supposed to Oscar worthy, but still, it's horrible and the only redeeming value is that cute little boy and the presence of Colin Firth. And now I need to finish the DC internship questonaire. I want to work in the White House!! Not a stupid Int'l org i dont care about. I would be uneasy working in a Bush White House, but I still want to see what it's like in there. If Kerry wins AND I get a White House internship, i will pee my pants.
Which brings me to the election. Why the hell is the election tied so far?? How could it be tied?? Why on earth would anyone still ocnsider Bush??? I just can't understand the mindset or the logic. Um he LIED to you. Iraq is basically a war for nothing and completely unrelated to 9/11. It is accomplishing squat to fight terror. Remember Osama?? He's from Afghanistan. Remember that country. It's the one we bombed and then kinda forgot about. Free elections? Suuure..let's just not mention the fact that there's no real stable govt. and the countrys run by a bunch of warlords. This election is inevitably going to be people voting negatively (ie voting against Bush rather than for Kerry) but those who say Kerry is not much better is on crack. There's a world of differece between the 2. I don't know what ppl are expecting. The mythical aura of John F. Kennedy? What pisses me off even more are Naderites. I think it's pretty clear that a vote for Nader is essentially a vote for Bush. Um evidence galore? Florida- 537 votes separating Gore and presidency. Try simple math. If you don't like either canidate then it's better not to vote. I mean a vote for Nader isnt really even principled. It's not going to lead to a viable 3rd party, he's not even representing the Green Party, and Nader is a deluded egomaniac. AH the irony and contradictory nature of voting for Nader. By voting Left, you are actually voting for the polar opposite! It's a lose-lose situation. que lastima!
