How can I have a son old enough to be in high school?
How is my son going to be in high school next year? How did that happen?
Our local school district has several option high schools that are part of the public school system. We had done some research for our son and decided that the school with the math and science focus would be a good fit for our son. It's a much smaller school than the "home school" he would otherwise be attending. The enrollment is about 170 students compared to about 2,000 at the "home school." This is a big factor for a kid with Asperger's. It's very easy for them to get overwhelmed. Math and science are also his favorite subjects and his goal is to major in software engineering in college. Anyway, admission is by a lottery and we found out yesterday that he got in! We're very happy! It's a good day!
