nattieloveqyu Kyuhyun storms out of the recording studio, slamming the door behind him in anger. "Stupid bunch of money-faced low-lifes..." he mutters.”Can't they see I need a break? I'm only human -- not some puppet on a string they can bloody control!" He kicks an innocent trash-can by the sidewalk. "I work my ass off for them, and how do they repay me?!" he continues on with his one-man rant, earning glances from a few passer-bys."They schedule me for more events!"
Flinging his arms up into the air in frustration, Kyuhyun doesn't really care how much of a madman he looks like at the moment. "I'm so sick of it! Just sick and tired of it!" And he rips a pair of black sunglasses from his eyes, throwing it towards the tar road beside him. Without thinking, he chucks the rest of his disguise -- cap, scarf and all -- in the same direction as well.
He stops walking, taking deep breaths to calm himself down. "They care about me, my ass... All they're concerned about are their pay-checks..."
Gradually though, the rationality returns to his brain, and standing under the blinding sun without anything to conceal his identity, Kyuhyun can't help but feel a little vulnerable. He walks towards the road, currently free of vehicles, making his way towards the items he'd recklessly disposed of.
He picks up his cap first, then bends down to retrieve said pair of shades. Then suddenly, he hears a metallic screech, loud and piercing in his ear. Kyuhyun looks up, and to his horror, sees a car hurtling towards him at full speed. All he does is stand there, dumbfounded; frozen with shock.
The black car continues to skid, tyres protesting and squealing against the brakes as it spins, out of control before him. Kyuhyun doesn't even have time to close his eyes, let alone let out a curse, before something solid hits his torso, flinging him onto the pavement.
It is only after Kyuhyun hits the concrete tiles with a thud, a jolt of pain travelling up his forearm at the impact, that he feels a pair of arms wrapped around his waist -- the reason he is indeed alive instead of crushed into a bloody pulp on the slab of black tar. Through his peripheral vision, Kyuhyun sees the black car crash into a tree, just miles away. He shudders, shocked, and for a moment, he just stays, unmoving in the embrace of a stranger Then, a voice speaks, marred and breathless in his ear. "Are you okay?"
Kyuhyun shakes his head back and forth, clearing it, instantly crawling out of the other man's hold. "Yeah, I'm fine." he replies, although his heartbeat is still beating rapidly in his chest.
"You sure?"
Kyuhyun nods vigorously, all fours on the ground, and then directs his gaze at his saviour for the first time. "Thank you." he says, feeling the temperature rise within his cheeks. It could be the heat, or the shock of near-death that tints his face beet red; or maybe, just maybe it's because he finds himself looking into the mesmering brown eyes of an adonis -- an adonis who'd just saved his life. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." the man smiles, pushing himself off the pavement. "Here, let me help you," he says, holding a hand out to Kyuhyun. "You look a little shaken up."
Kyuhyun hesitates, but takes hold of the palm anyway. "Thanks." he says again, this time, distracted by the shiver that courses up his spine at the touch. An ambulance rushes by, its siren blaring loudly. "Thanks again, for pushing me out of the way. I'll forever be grateful that I didn't end up like that." Kyuhyun points to the road, eyeing the pitiful remnants of his disguise, his sunglasses shattered to pieces on the tar. "Damn, that was my favourite pair..." he sighs, and the man beside him chuckles.”I'm Siwon, by the way." he introduces himself. Kyuhyun though, suddenly remembers that he's supposed to be a world-famous singer. He stays silent, bracing himself; waiting for Siwon to show any sign of recognition, but strangely enough, he never does. "I'm Kyuhyun." Kyuhyun eventually says, a genuine smile on his face now that he's positively sure that the guy has never heard of his existence -- finally, he can be treated like a normal person.
Siwon offers to take him to the hospital to get checked up, but Kyuhyun declines hastily, seeing a girl, looking excited and flushed, coming up to him with a pen and paper in her hand -- most likely for an autograph. He quickly drags Siwon into a nearby cafe before the latter can protest. He doesn't want Siwon to know who he really is -- at least not yet.
"Whoa, why the rush?" Siwon asks, plopping down into a seat after Kyuhyun releases him. "I just want to repay you for what you did..." Siwon looks at him suspiciously, but to Kyuhyun's upmost relief, decides not to brood on the subject.
The two men fall into easy conversation, enjoying themselves whole-heartedly. All the while, Kyuhyun rejoices internally, happy that the cafe's population only consists of a few indifferent senior citizens, and that he is able to keep his identity under wraps. They part ways, but exchange numbers before hand, promising to meet again.
And they do, quite frequently, actually. Kyuhyun finds himself sneaking away after recording sessions, CD promotions and whatever the management squeezes into his hectic schedule. Despite his busy life, he finds himself unable to pull away from Siwon. Gradually, they become closer, and Kyuhyun can't help but notice the way his heart accelerates around the other man; the way he is slowly falling, falling hard for Choi Siwon.
One day, Kyuhyun wakes up to the beep of his alarm-clock, dreadfully at 2am in the morning. He sits up groggily, back aching, drained. He thinks about the amount of events he has to attend that day, and suddenly, the stress of showbiz weighs heavily down on him; Kyuhyun wants nothing more to do with any of it. He calls in sick, and makes his way towards his only solace now; the one place he knows he'll feel welcome and genuinely cared about.
Siwon opens the door to find Kyuhyun standing there, puffy eyed and exhausted. Wordlessly, he pulls the man in, arms wrapping around him in a silent embrace. "Shhh," Siwon soothes, rubbing soothing circles around the latter's back when he starts to cry. "Want to tell me what's wrong?" Kyuhyun shakes his head against his chest, and Siwon decides not to pry. Looking at the man in his arms, soaking waterfalls into his shirt, Siwon feels his heart clench.
"I'm sorry." Kyuhyun blubbers, when the sobs slow.
Siwon says, voice gentle. "Don't apologise." Then, he leans forward, crashing his lips on to the younger man's, whose eyes immediately widen with shock. Eventually, Kyuhyun responds heatedly to the kiss, moaning simultaneously while Siwon's hands make their way under the fabric of his T-shirt. They rove all over of his stomach; all over his back...
Kyuhyun's eyes fly open much later to the sound of a door slam. Two men barge into the room where he and Siwon are curled up together on the couch. Instantly, they jolt up, startled. "W-who are you?" Siwon asks, rubbing at his eyes, still thick with sleep. "What are you doing in my apartment?!"
"Kyuhyun, what in the world are you doing here?" A pudgy man, his manager, emerges behind the two men. He rushes over, pulling Kyuhyun's hand, ignoring Siwon who can only look at them in confusion. "Kyu, what is going on? Who are these people?"
Kyuhyun's manager turns, acknowledging Siwon for the first time. "You should remain silent, mister. I am holding you responsible for Kyuhyun's disappearance."
"Hyung, don't." Kyuhyun snaps at the elder man. "It's not Siwon's fault."
"Why didn't you show up at the studio today, huh? They told me you'd called in sick, but I don't think that's really the reason."
"It's not..." The manager shoots Siwon an accusing look, and Kyuhyun hastily adds, "I just needed a break, okay?! I'm sick and tired of working all the time!"
"But, Kyuhyun, your fans --"
"My fans will be very happy when I don't collapse on stage due to exhaustion!"
"Wait. What?" Siwon scratches at his head, eyeing the two bickering men in front of him. "What fans?! Would somebody just clue me in already?!"
"You mean, you don't know?" the manager stares at Siwon, mouth agape.
"Don't know what, exactly?"
"That this man over here," he waves a hand towards a now guilty looking Kyuhyun. "Is Cho Kyuhyun -- one of the few internationally-recognised South Korean artists of the decade!"
Siwon blinks, expression disbelieving. "Kyu... is this... true?" Kyuhyun nods meekly in reply. "He's my manager."
Siwon looks hurt, betrayed...
"I'll leave you two alone..." the manager pats Kyuhyun on the back before exiting the room.
"Siwon," Kyuhyun takes Siwon's hand in his own. "I'm really sorry." he whispers, not liking the look on the elder's face one bit. "I really hope this doesn't change anything between us." Kyuhyun says, closing his eyes, expecting the worst.
"It doesn't." Siwon's voice is firm, and Kyuhyun's orbs fly open once more. "When you love someone, it's not like that..." Siwon smiles, and the way he says it makes the younger know that it is genuinely true. "I understand why you didn't tell me." he continues. "Must suck not knowing who's really using you when you're in the entertainment industry..."
"You have no idea." Kyuhyun exhales, relieved, and Siwon kisses him lightly on the lips once more. "I love you too, by the way." Kyuhyun says when they pull apart. "I'm glad you love me for me, and not because of what I'm known for."
